Lume Cannabis Co. Medical Cannabis?

Has anyone here purchased/tried meds from Lume Cannabis Co. ( lume.com ) over the years since the Medical Marihuana Facilities Licensing Act (MMFLA - 2016) was passed? To be honest, the MMFLA has really went through a lot of changes that I have not kept up with ...

A few years ago the YouTube canna reviewers Cannadave & Groovee visited Lume Walled Lake and picked up some Jenny Kush (medical @ 28.88% THC) prepackaged 1/8s that were being sold for $60 then (Nov 25, 2020). The labs were being performed by PSI Labs back then. Not sure who does their labs today?

The wife & I finally gave in and dropped by Lume Walled Lake last year (April 2023) on a trip out that way to visit a friend. This was our very first venture into a Big Corporate Cannabis retail facility. We were less than impressed with shopping there ...

We ended up grabbing just an 1/8 of Jenny Kush (Amnesia Haze x Rare Dankness #2) - pictured. I had been looking to try this strain for nearly a decade since it was bred by Scott Reach/Rare Dankness back in Colorado. The strain was indeed impressive being Amnesia Haze dominant, as I am a long time fan of that sweet sativa haze.

Oddly it was only available on the rec side at $30, but half the cost of medical there just a few years ago. The medical side in general seemed to be a bad joke ...

The labs were performed by Act Labs, but looks a bit sus to me. I am unfamiliar with them personally.

Any time I am in Michigan, I stop by Lume in Honor. I LOVE their 5mg gummies. The fast acting and normal.ones both work great for.me. and they taste great as well. Catch them.on a sale and in my opinion, they are a steal. The store in Honor is hands down my favorite dispo I have been to. That said, I have only been to about 10 of them. I did also pop into a Lume in Grand Rapids and while the dispo was satisfactory, the attendant that I had was not one to instill relaxed feelings while shopping. Gladly I had been before and I knew exactly what I wanted so it didn't bother me a whole lot,but if it had been my first time, it would have left a bad taste in my mouth. I have no experience with their flower at all.

They have such a critter as a fast-acting gummy???

I almost forgot, on that first trip to Lume (April 2023) I did find one strain with a funny name that I did not recognize: "Uncle Bruce". The strain was clearly Bruce Banner though, as the cross was OG Kush x Strawberry Diesel. I am not sure if it was the original (clone only) Bruce Banner #3 pheno or something from a subsequent breeding. Has anyone tried their "Uncle Bruce" or know anything about it?

@THC is right, Lume's sales, "daily deals" and bundles can greatly reduce costs if planned out right: https://www.lume.com/specials

They also give a general 10% discount to Veterans and Medical Patients, but as a Vet and a Med Card holder I am only allowed a 10% max discount. Worse yet, if you purchase something on special (< 10% off), that somehow nullifies the Veteran/Medical discount completely?!?

Speaking of Lume's sales, the old lady and I stopped back in on 4/20 this year (2024) for just that ...

We have never vaped nor dabbed extracts much in general, but we gave up on the vape pens all together back in 2019 with all of the Vitamin E issues and injuries.

That said, we decided to grab a 1 gram Jenny Kush live rosin cartridge (regularly $35).

They call them RIP Pods as they snap onto their $10 RIP Pod battery that was free on 4/20.

Not bad!

Anyone else using vape pens these days?

I head into Lume every once in a while . They also sometimes have "Super Jenny Kush" flower that supposedly 40% THC. Seems unlikely to be that high but they advertise it that way . Got me ripped for sure tho.

When we stopped in on this 4/20 (2024) they had 8ths of some strains in a version they are calling "Blackout". Supposedly it is a limited release, hand trimmed version of their flower glass cured in total darkness. Essentially flower honestly cured for a short period of time I assumed, as this bag was harvested only 10 weeks earlier on February 5th. I was definitely unimpressed and question their hand trimming, especially that stick LoL @Gemtree I did weigh it out at 3.64 grams.

The regular 8th of Jenny Kush I picked up back in 2023 was much better IMHO

I just realized that Lume Cannabis Co. no longer offers medicinal marijuana at all. All of their 38 stores here are now recreational only. How is that a good business decision by "The largest Single State Operator in the nation"? What gives?

WTF has happened to our Medicinal Marijuana movement in this state?!?

Has anyone tried Lume's "Blueberry Crumble"? The lineage on their website states: Amnesia Haze x Rare Dankness. I would assume it is a sister/phenotype of their Jenny Kush (Amnesia Haze x Rare Dankness) then no?

I am aware of a strain being sold by Nature’s Grace and Wellness down in Illinois as "Blueberry Crumble", but it is a Blueberry x OG Kush cross. That may be an inhouse strain though?

This is a couple of years old (2022), but there are some interesting strain specific stats given by Lume Cannabis Co. They call it "Top Strains in Michigan: By The Numbers", but I assume they are specifically talking about only their strain sales.
