Mag Deficiency?

Hi, I'm growing 8 plants all from the same bagseed... and they are now exhibiting some Yellowing, and I want to be sure of what it is before I attempt to correct the problem.

I've yet to check my Ph as of lately, since this is sort of a low budget grow, but I'm using tap water that tested around 7.3 three weeks ago, so I know that's a bit high, but I've grown with this tap water before and had no adverse affects...

5 of my 8 plants are now showing yellowing between the veins of their oldest leaves, and some elder leaves have eventually turned completely yellow with dead orange tips. All plants are slightly light green, some have purple stems, and some of their growth has been stunted.

At two weeks old I gave them some MG 30-10-10 at half the recommended dose... I have Jiffy potting soil, perlite, and vermiculite mixed at a ratio of 3:1:1. They are FIMed/Topped and pushing 24 days old from sprout.

PLEASE, any help is appreciated. Thanks in advance.

MG sucks. Foxfarms.
okay, thanks for that well thought out, helpful information.. Deuche Bag.

Any how, Yeh, I know MG sucks, it was all I had at my disposal at the time, I've since then acquired the three pack of FF fertilizers...

Also, when I had first started these plants they were in crappy bargain soil (dirt) that had a lot of yellow clay in it, and it was badly restricting the roots... I've since Transplanted the plants (last night) into the afore mentioned jiffy soil.

Could the crappy clay dirt I had be the culprit.... by possibly locking locking out the ferts, and actually giving my plants an N deficiency???

Please, any help/thoughts are welcome.... as long as you've got something more intelligent/helpful to say than Promitius...

that is a nitrogen deficiency, you can tell because it starts in between the veins
you need to add another dose of your nutes but be careful not to burn, you said something about orange tips?? u need to take a photo of them because that may be nute burn

Okay, after thinking about my past restricting soil, and reading up, I was beginning to think N def as opposed to Mag. thanks for your input.

As for the orange tips, I'm familiar with Nute burn and that isn't it.... it's only the tips of the fully yellow leaves that are turning orange and curling up - the last pic I attached of the fully Yellowed leaf has the orange tip that I speak of.

Thanks again.

BTW, what book is that a page out of?? Head Shop near me sells a bunch of books, but I've always just used RIO! Might get a book for a little reading without having to stare at a PC monitor though! :P

Give another boost of High Nitrogen and watch over a day or two and the colour should come back into those leafs .

Nitrogen all the way. Hit them with some MG. I like the FEED FEED WATER routine. When I grow in dirt. Your going to have some monsters on your hands pretty soon. Just my opinion Good luck

Don't hammer it with nutes just add a little. The diff isn't bad from the pic's it looks like a lower leaf died off. Once a leaf turns it wont come back just watch the new growth over the next week or two.

Okay, I did pretty much what everyone said. I gave it a half strength dose of N about 12 hours ago and I can already see a difference. The Leaves are more perky instead of droopy, some of the dark purple stems have faded to a lighter purple, and my plants have started smelling slightly of that "vegging dank" smell.... :D Up until this point my plants haven't smelled at all.. not sure if it has anything to do with it or not, but works for me.

Thanks again for all of your help, I'll keep a little update going here for the next few days. :)

Yeh that's sort of what I was thinking... went with a half strength dose and just gonna play by ear after that and let my plants tell me if they need more or just water. :)

I'm sure it's jorge cervantes "medical growers bible". I highly recommend it. got it cheap off amazon. doesnt' give the group interaction of the forumn, but does give you the strait dope.
