Making Marijuana Cooking Oil

Hi there,

I already tried cannabutter with great results and now I'm planing on making some mj oil tomorrow and so I was checking different recipes on the internet. After doing it there are two things that I would like some opinion about.

1- I read that leaving the weed in oil overnight is good. Did anybody try this or know if that's true ?

2- Some recipes say to heat the oil and when it's about to boil add the weed and some add the weed first, then cover with oil and start heating. Which one do you use ?

basically the oil is acting as a solvent like paint thinner.. however it just takes much longer for it to happen.. leaving weed in a jar of olive oil and shaking it every once in awhile will do the same as heating the oil and adding the weed... heat helps the thc losen up from the plant and adhere to the fats in the oils.. you can see everyone has their methods on temps times and etc.. use what you know works for you.. wasting weed on stuff that does nothing or not doing a recipe correct is pointless..

leaving the weed overnight without heat will do little to nothing.

personally I have stopped making butter/oil and use finally sifted decarbed weed

Thanks for the reply :) most of the recipes I found heat it for two hours so I think I'll try it that way, I won't leave it overnight and I'll mix everything in a pot first and then heat it.

What is decarbed weed ?

+rep :)
