Marijuana + Fire arm = felony?

So, Im in the process of trying to get a doctors recommendation for medical marijuana. In the state of Maryland where I live that equates to still having the possibility of an arrest but no criminal charges and a fine not to exceed $500. I own several registered rifles and a 22 caliber target pistol that was my grandfathers. I have no paper work for the pistol as it was given to me by my father.

It is my understanding that any time guns and drugs are present the charges automatically escalate to a felony. Is this correct? does that mean that even w/ the proper documents I could be charged w/ a felony if some over zealous bastard decides to knock my door down?

I seem to remember hearing that even registered rifles could be used against you in court if your facing possession charges. Lol and the pistol is a far cry from a concealable weapon w/ its 9" barrel. Also all the fire arms are locked in a metal gun safe inside my closet.

Where I live you can pass guns to sons without registration, for some reason, but check online to make sure.
Yes in many cases guns + drugs = higher charges, but not always.
If your guns are legally stored and your grow is legal, then the cops can kick rocks.

Not sure about your state but where I am if they charge you w/ Intent to Distribute and you have firearms in the house its a felony.
Lessen the risk, make sure you have no scales or baggies etc. in the house.....makes Distribution tough to prove if there's no scale or packaging materials.
