MMAR refused, can anyone suggest a private clinic?

After over a year of bad experiences with designated growers, doctors and now my application didn't match what the specialist said exactly so they turned me down.

I've noticed quite a few of these private clinics that will consult with you and possible (more thank likely?) sign your MMAR (if you qualify by health canada standards, ie, a specialist and a condition that cannabis can help with). They can do it over skype apparently ... where where these places 10 years ago when I started trying to get my ATP?!?!

If you have any experience or information, please post it, it would be greatly appreciated.

Green Leaf Medical- if you are not in the Vancouver area they can do the interview by Skype. Cost me $400 and had my license in 5 weeks

While more liberal than a regular doctor, they still seem to pick and choose which conditions cannabis can help with. I got this back from them:

Unfortunately, within our clinic our partner Doctors have decided against signing patients into the program with a diagnosis of depression due to the fact marijuana can make things drastically worse long term.
I know I sound a bit frustrated here, but seriously? Cannabis vs. anti-depressants and anti-psychotics? I feel whole with cannabis, I feel like an emotionally neutered test animal on anti-d's and anti-p's. Now I have a compassionate clinic feeding me the same lines "traditional doctors" have given me. I've been trying to legitimize my medical treatment of choice for over a decade and not even a "compassionate" clinic can help. Sorry, just a vent, the system is borked.

The good news is that you got a response. I have called and emailed others and have heard nothing back.

If i can ask, how long did they take to email you back?

My mother was given the forms to apply by her pain specialist. It says you have the option to let a third party(me) grow for you. What are the stipulations and rules to this? If her doctor has given her these forms, does that mean it is a for sure thing or just the chance to apply? Also, I had my ass brutally kicked 2 years ago and have dull constant pain in my neck, shoulder AND jaw from this(beat unconscious then kicked in the face), do you guys think I have a chance to be eligible for my license? I had an MRI recently, hopefully that will help me.

Not sure, but I have something similar to you and haven't had any luck. I think if you have a very serious issue it is easier to get, but if you have general pain or something else that could be helped by some semi-strong pain killers, they usually just recommend the pills. I know it is stupid, but gives you a good reason to grow it illegally ;) I use to fear being caught, but now I dont even care.

Exactly. I am a stoner, without the pain even, but once I got that hurt and had that pain and started realizing some strains made my discomfort level almost zero I was pretty shocked lol. I HATE pills. They already screwed my mum on them(they being the evil pharmaceutical industry). I would rather put up with the pain than take drugs. I will grow whether or not I can legally. Its a plant and I dont feel wrong when I grow so why stop.

I refuse to take synthetic chemical pressed pills, the only other things that works is morphine, dilaudid, or other forms of opiates for my pain relief, including but not limited to Phantom Pains. I've told my Doctors, and even WCB that I consume cannabis medicinally, and that I won't stop any time soon, as the alternatives would leave me in a zombie state, which results in me being non-productive in the work force.

My opinion on this is simple, the Doctor has NO clue what your experiencing, they CAN'T know what your experiencing, unless they suffer from the same condition. We know that the way our nervous system is built that there is no definitive path information takes, you could have a problem with your hand that ends up causing you a great deal of back pain, Doctors don't know exactly why, but every single part of our body is connected to every other part of our bodies directly via our nervous system, and even a condition in your hand can cause problems in your feet.

I take what works best, and leaves me functional at the end of the day, if they don't like it, they can suck my left nut till the right one gets jealous, as I will not suffer because of their ignorance, stupidity, and general lack of compassion for their own citizens.

Good to see you Pharoah. I took your advice and called Dr. K twice but apparently he isn't prescribing anymore.
