MO EFFEN LASSES! Who uses it? Why? When?

Molasses on the table! I use the shit I'm not sure if it does a damn thing but yes I do still use it. The one main thing I would really like to know before I go and water my plants tonight is while flushing can you still use molasses? Tonight is my first night of flushing. When I say flushing I mean last two weeks of flowering. So that is all I ask. If one person could answer this one for the old orange it would be greatly appreciated. Also I'm sure other's would love to hear what people think about molasses. It's uses, and if it works. Maybe even about the fact that nutrient suppliers will sell you some with a different name for a shit load more cash. Happy Holidays everyone!

I used it last summer but I'm not sure if it made any difference. Next time I'll use it on and couple and not on the others.

I heard it does the same thing as "Sweat Leaf" I think its an organic way to add sugars to help create carbs.

I am just throwing this out there, but I heard that pectin worked really well as a substitute for suga/molasses. anyone heard of that?

Used some bout 5 days before harvest. But started flushin straight water a week before. Tasted like candy.....really really good candy

I tried it, and wanted it to do something but I don't think it did. I'll try it more because I have nothing to lose but some molasses.

Everything I have learned leads me to believe that plants make their own carbohydrate, so molasses isn't taken up.

To each their own i geuss?

Sorry but no that did not help. It gave me a lot of really good info but didnt answer what I wanted. I decided to just keep watering with mollasses all the way through during the flush. I doubt it will hurt anything.

The idea behind the molasses is to give more carbohydrates to your plant. Although the plant does produce its own sugars, when you boost the feeding program with a 0-50-30, or a big bud at the onset of buds, sugar is essential for transference of these abundant phosphorous and potassium elements. The plant needs more energy to metabolize the aggressive feeding program. I use liquid CarboLoad, made by Advanced Nutrients, which includes some complex carbs that plants cannot produce throughout the blooming cycle from day one to the last feed just before flushing. Plants react to carbs in a similar manner that humans do, many carbs means heavy weight, I double the recommended quantity during weeks 4, 5, and 6. flush for 1 week 50day cycle. Some people don’t like the bubbling this product produces in drip irrigation, so they use the powder made by the same people by the same name. This is not an organic product. If going organic, molasses is the way to go.

To answer the question, I, (my opinion) would not put anything during flushing period except a flushing agent to increase the rate of the rinsing mechanism that is going on.

Thank you! That helps a lot. I will stop adding molasses during my final flush. What is a good flushing agent? Is the water I'm using not enough? I feel that it is. Are there any home made flushing agents that one aould make?

There are a multitude of flushing agents out there, pretty much every nuts producer makes one. all are good, by flushing standards, which is simply an agent that speeds up the process of eliminating the salts and chemical residue left behind during an aggressive feeding program. If you're feeding light or organic the water flush is great and cost effective, however chemical users should always use flushing agents, roughly $10-15 CDN per litre, which will last up to 2 years depending on the size of the crop, I'm thinking a three light system, sog or not. Hydro should add these flushing agents to add extra safeguards for the roots during the final stage.
