I'm still very new to growing, but since I have started, all of my grows have been with 6500k PLL lamps for veg, and a Pro-Grow 180 for flowering. I later added some different lighting (3000k CMH then 3000k PLL) for the flowering phase, but still use the PG 180.
Anywho, I found that vegging under 6500k with the lamps close gave me squat plants with tight nodes. One of my plants (70% indica) had nodes only 1/2 apart. Even my mostly sativa Neville's Haze had fairly tight nodes until I moved her to the LED for flowering.
That being said, do you think it is possible to control the stretch you often see during the first few weeks of 12/12 by using the same type of lights used during vegging? That is, continue with 6500k until the initial 12/12 stretch is almost done?
Just wondering "out loud", may actually try this to see if it works in future grows. Really want to experiment with this for some landrace sativas I will be growing very soon.
