We're not exactly sure why this happened. My hypothesis is that more CBGA is being synthasised into CBDA than THCA. Or it could be that the UVB is breaking the THC down into CBN whilst not affecting CBD as much. I'm leaning towards the first hypothesis and I think I may have seen some evidence of thise elsewhere but I have to find it.
Just curious, why don't you just grow very low THC and high CBD strains. I've grown several over the years with UV and without. I didn't find an appreciable difference using UV. I was using 4ft SolarCure FlowerPower bulbs along with a 900 watt Timber Phatty COB LED. I cycled the UV to run 15 mins per hour over 12 hours. I didn't have my grows tested. However, I can say that I did not get a noticeable high off what I grew.
I will be growing a high cbd low THC strain, I was curious about maximising the cbd as much as I can. I thought from the results more uvb might help push things for me in the same way uva can help thc. If it makes 14% instead of 12% it’s worth a try
Sure, I understand. As I mostly vape my CBD buds, I wanted to maximize taste, frost and of course CBD levels.
