Mounting my ballast

So I'm going to mount my ballast outside the tent, is it okay to mount it on drywall? Or will that be a fire hazard I know it's gonna get warm was just wondering

Drywall is pretty fire proof. That's why it's used. Be sure to get stud or use anchors rated for the weight.

I mounted it on drywall Lmao thank you just didn't wanna start a fire ya know lol safety first

Dry wall (Sheet Rock) is the way to go man.

Should he worry about the paint? The drywall is mostly gypsum, but if it's painted over, will it bubble the paint and cause havoc? Should he use a small offset or shim to let air vent behind the ballast rather than sitting flush? Or is that just overkill and worrying about too little a thing?
