I live where wallmart is all you got an all they had was mushroom compost,an only one bag.lol They dont cary bat quano, worm castings blood meal or lime.

Is my mix any good? I dont know anything about it.

I mixed up .........
3 big bags Miracal grow mosture control (has 2-3 months osmocot nutes in it
2 small bags perlite
1 big bag mushroom compost
4 cups wood ash
1/2 cup epsom salts.
And in each hole im adding 4 packets of Zeba starch moistrue control crystal with osmocote time release ferts (10-10-10).

I hope i can get by with the time release, an some Miracal grow in the water case Wal mart sux for organics.

I was guessing there messurments lol. It was realy 1 closed handfull of ash, an 2 big pinches of epsom salt. i just didnt want to admit i actualy messured like that. I recreated it an i got 1 1/2 cup ash, an 2 table spoon epsom salt.

Shoud i dilute it down with some more soil/ perlite? Cause i still got more to buy.

I really don't know what to tell you about the soil. Moisture control would not be my first pick, but, you have to use what is available to you. There are garden centers most communities or near by. You may find better soil there.

Good Luck

The Miracle Grow soil makes me nervous! I think you'll have mixed opinions on that though, but for me, I feel a lot better being in control of when I feed my plants.

mushroom compost is great, a mate of mine just harvested a plant he had in a mix consisting of 30L mushroom compost, 30L horse manure and 15L sand and it was only 4ft tall but yeilded 1.8kgs of trimmed wet bud... never had any deficiency problems, not even nitrogen at the end of its life...

i also had two plants in a shared pot (both 5ft tall in a 30L container) which was filled with just plain basic potting mix, which i then watered with nutes, but then decided to transplant them in the soil due to space requirements for both the plants heights and the root systems... i simply turned 30L of mushroom compost into the existing soil (which had grown many seasons of broad beans, so im assuming it would be pretty low in nutes because nothing has ever been added to it) and after the initial transplant shock the plants have been looking healthier than ever.
