I am starting this new grow journal with very little idea what to expect. I have grown 2 batches thus far. The first was 10 white widow, and 5 mixed that I ordered from Marijuanaseeds.nl.com back in March of '08. They came out very nice considering I killed 3 by adding vinegar to increase pH levels without really needing to after reading some site's info. Then, I killed a few more by dropping them while adjusting lights etc. Overall I ended with 5 girls that came to full flower and were harvested and then "used".
The I got 11 random bag seeds from a friend. All 11 sprouted and grew. 12/12 from seed. 1 Hermie, 4 girls, the rest males which were discarded.
Now I have got 35 new seeds from marijuanaseeds.nl.com again. I figure, stick with what you know works. I used a credit card in my name and had the package delivered to my home address "gasp". I know all you paranoid people will be like, "You're crazy!". Oh well here I sit with no problems. Order placed on 8/9/08 and received on 8/20/08. One thing that did give me pause was that it was sent registered mail. The local post office gave me a note in my box saying I needed to pick up or fill out a ticket that told them delivery was OK and where to leave package. I went to post office and picked up no problems. My reasoning was if they had past customs I should be clear.
My intention with the new seeds is to clone and/or make new seeds from the resultant crops so that I will not need to take any more future risks with International purchases of seeds. This order consisted of 10 Mango, 10 THC Bomb, 10 mixed, and the obligatory 5 random seeds with purchase.
8/20/08- I started 4 THC Bomb seeds today in Miracle Grow seed starting mix. No lights are on for now as it'd be about useless. Once they break soil I will start them on 2 4' CFL's with Daylight bulbs for 2 weeks. My plan then is to move them over to my 100W Metal Halide bulb for vegetation. I bought the MH light at Home Depot for $64.95. When I want to flower eventually, I will move them under the 2 70W HPS lights I got at Lowe's for $28.95 ea. I have been looking at the Sunlight systems in 600W to 1000W but I can't justify the cost for only a few plants. The last 2 grows were exclusively CFL's and were fine.
I will start posting pics next week once they have started. In the mean time if you wish to advise me in any way, have at it.
