Hey guys,

so I went out and got some organic stuff for my plants which should help me make a good mix and are listed as follows:

- Bone Meal
- Organic NPK mix with guano
- Perlite
- Soil
- Sand

What amount of these materials should I mix in order to correctly feed my plants? My pots will hold 13cm(high) of dirt by 16 1/2 cm(wide).

Thanks a lot!!!

Soil?
As in garden? or as in bagged? If Garden, get some bagged. (a handfull or two of garden soil per cubic foot of bagged soil woould be cool. Much more than that would not work for pots.)
So, from here on lets assume (and we all know what happens when we do that, but I'll do it anyway) you have something like what I'm useing now Farmers: basic-store-bought-potting-soil. Composted forest product, peat moss, sand, perlite.
First Search all info, sub-cool goes into it, yes, partial doctoral disertation may need to be parused (Lots o' words, lots o' knowledge), but I personally picked up a lot along the way, so all the reading is well worth it.
For your main mix
15-25% added perlite
a handfull (per 2/3 full 5 gal bucket, I got big hands) of sand
a sprinkle (1 tblsp) bone meal and "organic mix" (I'm assuming it's boxed, something like sweet earth)
Dolomite Lime .....Not mentioned, but one of the first things I bought when I started growing again. Very Important IMO. about three tblsps. for that 5 gal. bucket.

Now you have your seed mix or transplant mix. I wouldnt start from seed in those containers, or maybe I would, i'm american so i only use the meteric system to weigh pot. Kind of funky sixe for pots, but hey, i guess thats Eurp.

Ok, found my Mketric/ standard mesure tape. use those pots for seeds (or clones)
Move up in the size of pots you use, I used 11 liter pots for my last flower session.
Also step up the ferts in the soil mix as the plants mature. make teas. Read the Treads on the subject.
Peace out.

Hey organick, yes, I mean bagged soil. Just the normal stuff you find without any additional fertilizers or perlite. I have a different bag of perlite. I have 3 liter pots and no where enough space to use a 5 gallon bucket. I am planning to flower around 20-25 cm, so I don't need an extra amount of rooting space. Now that you know the pot size, what would you suggest for 3 liters? I'm sorry I didn't mention this earlier.

P.S. - The organic mix is bagged and feels like tiny rocks, haven't opened it yet.

Thanks much!!!=)

For smaller pots you are going to flower in: Teas made from your boxed frets and consistency, Top dressing would be good too, If you could come by some mulch. Bagged mulches can be good, I "wash" them sometimes first if they contain urea or nitrate of ammonia: fill pot 3/4 full of mulch, water with about a half gallon pure water, let the water run through, use. Some bagged mulches won't need to be washed if they are of good quality.
Mix mulch with boxed fert, add water, mix into a light paste. dump on soil surface, water in. (You are not filling your pots full of soil, right, leave at least an inch)
Back to consistency: with small pots ( really small for flowering) The soil getting too wet or too dry or running out of nutrients or too many nurtients will severely affect your havest time or amount or both. If it where me I'd water with a light tee every time I watered as well as top dressing almost every time (about two teaspoons of "top dressing paste")
The microbes in your soil should not experience any "bumps in the road". Top dressing seems to keep things balanced in the root zone.
