so what if..........

we came up with a computer program that was a judge? we input all the past criminal cases into it's memory. then run a program that analyzes all the information. now someone gets charged with a crime. take all the info on the case and input it into the computer. the computer runs the case and determines guilt or innocence. a select group of jurors can go over the final analysis and determine punishment based on the computers determination of the case. i think this would be a lot better then letting a judge decide. judges can allow personal feelings get in the way of actual facts. i see it happen all the time.

only problem with this is that the software would be proprietary and secretive. which means it would be independent of external scrutiny and thus subject to willful tampering by the designers for the right price. think electronic voting machines.

i'm soooooo close. the computer would have to run itself. think "war games". :lol:
