My Plant is Budding but It's Really Short

Hey man, sorry I can't really help with the yield but I'm on my first grow and after 1 week of flowering I see no signs of budding. Did it take this long to any signs of budding when you srated tour flowering cycle? Thanks man.

well it depends i am growing outside unless its really windy or raining then i pull the plant inside so i really dont know much about lights and shit but usualy it starts to show signs of budding around the second week look for really fine hairs unless its a male then it wont bud at all.

So its bagseed then ,and not an autoflowering strain or anything like that right? If so, then its probably an 8 week strain, which means you have a good 4-5 wks left to flower. Although the plant itself wont get any taller, or give more budsites, the bud itself WILL get much bigger than what your lookin at here. It actually looks pretty damn nice for 3 1/2 weeks flowering man. I'd be proud of makin a nice lookin low to the ground stealthy plant if i were you

but say that you take a reggies seed and grow it with no male around to pollenate it does that make its thc content high enough to be chronic?

Nice, thank you man, now Im not as worried (although I'm only growing three so I guess they all could be males).
As far as for your budding, I just thought of something. Go to stealthhydroponics.com and look in the soil/organic growing section. They have perfect soil kits and soil supplements that you can add specifically for vegging and for blooming. That may help.

most of the time with reggies, you can come up with stuff that is 100% better quality but you are restrained to the limits of the strain. Id say no problem coming up with chronic from most bricked smoke.
edit: My first grow was all bricked seeds from some cheap ass shit and I got some greeeaat smoke from it..

You probably just have short genetics. Did it get stressed during life at all?
There's really nothing to do about it now, especially growing outside. Just be happy with the fat buds you'll be getting.
You can grow reg seed into good quality pot--people on this site do it all the time--its just more difficult as you're more prone to get hermies, and the quality is usually lacking compared to controlled genetics.
"regular" weed is shitty because it has seeds, which means it got pollinated. As you said, preventing pollination creates sensimilla, or weed without seeds. This weed is better because the plant doesn't waste time and energy (and most importantly RESIN) producing the seeds. Instead, it sends out as many trichomes as it can in desperate search for pollen!
So, you can go fine weed from reg seeds. But when you can control the genetics to fit your needs and wants, you're likely to get a much better product.

If you are growing outside, then your plant cycle is hinged to available light. You started your plants too early and the plant has done a quick veg and gone to flower. If you aren't getting AT LEAST 12 hours of daylight...you are going to stop vegging.

it had been trans planted one time i cut the dirt in my garden about five inches from the base of the plant all around and just tossed it in a pot. prolly two weeks before any signs of buds. i noticed it went into shock a little but it came through fine

I'd say its just short then. A little transplant stress probably didn't hurt it, but who knows.

As its been said in here already, the bud your growing now is automatically gonna be better than the bud it came from, because it was some reg weed that some commercial guerilla grower grew with 1000 other plants, that he didnt pay any attention to. He just set up an irrigation system and left it alone until harvest time more than likely. This is how you get your more commercial bud, n even your middies most of the time.
But, if you were to take a strain of reg weed, and then start a breeding project - you can turn it into a strain of kind bud over time. Basically if you take the female that you have now, and then you grew out a male of the same strain, and did some controlled pollenation to get seeds from her, the resulting seeds will be better than the bud that it came from, and if you keep doing it, over and over and over again, always selecting the best plant out of the bunch to breed with, both male and female, the resulting seeds will produce superior bud over the previous crop. This is how breeders got to the point that theyre at with the seeds we buy online. Theyve been breeding these strains for decades, to the point where theyve grown out all of these afghani, indian, pakistani, ect - strains out, and bred them over and over so many times, that it turned into the phenominal shit that we grow today. Its a beautiful thing. But the point is, you can turn your schwag (well, i dont know about the schwiggity schwag, but u get the point, lol) into something amazing, if you take the time, and pay the attention due that it deserves. im not saying you can accomplish this with a mere couple of runs, but you can most definitely accomplish it.
But the bud your growing right now will most definitely look, taste, and smoke completely different from the bud that you got it from. If you got the seed from some really good middies, then its possible that your growing premium bud right now, but the nugs that your seed came from were grown poorly, and werent tended to, so it turned out inferior to its potential, but by a smokers standards, still some pretty good green.
I dont know if i just made a shitload of sense to everyone, but i hope i did, and i hope that it motivates some people to take some good seeds n turn it into something awesome.

as everyone already said..its already budding.its looking good for being so short..enjoy it!!
but pot size,and how long it vegged for makes a diff as well..the longer it veggs the bigger it will flower(usually)Plants get at least twice as big,when flowered..being outside there as to be a time or date that u remember u planted it and when u seen those first lil white hairs....
and u can always add some bloom booster,that will make the buds swell a bit,
just make sure to only use water the last 2 weeks before harvest.

My guess is that you did not veg for long enough.
While preventing pollination may increase potency, trichomes do not exist to collect pollen. That's the job of the pistil.
There have been many purposes proposed for trichome production including insect repellent, UV-B protection, fungal protection, and aiding in retaining the flower's water content.

The plant has a long way to go yet buy some [buddy]and feed water and sugar mix the sugar into hot water allow to cool then feed this along with the other mentioned but don't assume because it's a small plant it will not yeiled alot smaller plants get max light all over so you should at least get a few ounce.also the best advise i can give you if you want bigger yeileds is grow more.
