4X4 closet 100 watter top 5foot 11 inches up! at it stays there!.jpgView attachment 2223147How many plant's?? one??seem's on the low but for a newbie pretty sweet!! I bloom after 6 week's vege....lst and yield about 16-22 oz's per plant but that's after 50 year's of "playing"...single cola plant's yield the least of any method....it's ok for sog but 22-24" plant's require mo HELP...some varieties yield the same if topped ie 2 main cola's with same mass as 1 large...other's double or tripple yield!..experiment and see what you get!! It's a learning experience and you are doing great!! Just to finish, now hone your skill's for some real impressive result's (It's all grower tallent once you have the right genetic's my brother!! what do you vege with? I use 3 gal prune pot's for best result's and very little nute's...sometime's I see ca-mg deficiency..but plant's never smoke like a road flare (Too much metal's in it nute's) or smell's like ass...) You are doing it right and you should do a journal so if needed you could ask for assistance!! wishing you the best! and enjoy you fruit's my brother!! WELL DONE! my first grow was less than 50 gram's!!! jack my grow..flower room left clone right.jpgthe sweet smell of success!.jpgView attachment 2223141lsd plant lst'd 3 more week's min!.jpgView attachment 2223143no room left!!.jpg

rbeez.....Especially not topped or lst'd!!! GREAT start! My first grow sucked and yielded less than 50 gram's!!
If you've done that without lst or topping, dude, i can only imagine what you would pull from scroggin and FIM/topping, you seem a natural, keep it ;)

Just sayin simons perfect cure kicks ass..Been curing 3 days and 65% humidity.hope it starts to smell like some bubble in a couple weeks. As of now a Dieselly hay smell

did you trim first or dry first?? that hay smell can come from improper trimming or drying before trimming and will linger a while...always trim all leaf while the plant is standing you can cut branch by branch off and work on one at a time then it will look like nugs on a stick and should be dried like that..you dont want to cut leaf out of the bud but just go along with the natural shape cuting anything sticking out of the bud structure...this eliminates that smell for the most part

I trimmed before drying.Exactly as you described.Left on branches and let it dry for about 4 days. Then started curing in jars.started at 70 % now at 65%

oh ok just wondering sounds like you have this part down tho lol....then that smell should go away pretty quick like 2-3 weeks and it should be some prime smoke :D ...also ive noticed its better to break the top colas into nugs before jarring as this GREATLY decreases the chance of mold ..but again sounds like you have it covered!

I trim also before dry. I find with the leaves still being rigid it makes trimming much easier and I can do a better job. I still leave the buds on the stick so that I can hang dry them. When dry so that the stocks are almost to the breaking point, but not quite I cut the buds off the sticks and sweat them over night in a bag. This allows the moisture to come out of the bud and be consistant throughout. Then I dry again and then cure for a week in a closed mason jar. I find this is the best method after trying many, at least for me.

I have tried to trim after dry because I heard it would improve the taste, but this made it extremely hard to trim as nice as I like and also took way longer. The finished bud didn't seem any different to me, so now I stick with giving them a hair cut when wet.

Yes i did break down the big colas.I didnt want to because i actually produced a nug about 10 inches long. She was pretty..lol..i am still a bit worried about mold.I cant find info on if leaving it at 65% can cause mold.I think 70%+ is prime for mold.I dried my first crop way too fast so i want to try to do it right.Ive only been in the game for a little over a year and all i can say this site is very informative and people on here are cool and supportive..Very cool..

well personally ive always thought it pretty hard to get mold...but then last crop i left the colas whole and found a liiiiiiiittle tiny bit starting inside one and immediately broke them up and let them dry a bit more and scrapped the g or so that had mold...got lucky! ....but ill tell ya what i had it pretty damp in those jars a couple times as im always afraid of drying/curing too fast as well...this next run im going to dry a bit longer and get it more down to a science because i noticed that it only took about 3 weeks to cure nicely and im sure had i dried a bit more first the same cure would have been accomplished....65 seems high to me but supposedly you can get to that point and never open the jar for a month and be just fine, at least thats what i recall reading, i dont trust myself enough to do that though :D
