my seeds have germed 1 problem

the problem is im not sure what is better to start with 1- 600 matel halide or 2 cfl 125w.
will 2 cfl be enough for 12 seed or will it be better with the 600 hid
please help thanks

Either will be absolutely fine for seedlings.

thanks for the quick reply. ill go with the 600hid but is there any way that much light will shock the little 1s sorry im a noob

yeah you need to have the light, quite far away. what size containers are they in? if you can fit them under the two cfls for the first week they would probably appreciate that.

Yeah, while both would work, i'd just go for the CFL's. They'll put out more light than is needed for those first couple of weeks, a 600w is just a bit of a waste of electricity. If opting for the 600w then just be careful of temperatures.

Your best bet is the cfl. As close as possible

It's alway's best to start with fluorecents. your seeds are gonna sprout and stretch for the light, that wattage you gott the lihgt is gonna have to be 1.5 feet above thats too much stretching. After germination the seedling can touch florecnt tubes for the next 3 weeks. this will stunt the seedling and the energy will go toward building a thicker stock. then you can start streching it. just make sure you got your secondary leaflets lookin healthy before you think about putting them under that wattage

ok that makes a lot more sense now. so after 2-3 week with the cfl do you think i could save my money and jus use a 600 hps that i have already got
and i just want to say thanks you guys for giving me guidence im grateful
