My setup that i am looking into getting

Ok i recently started with a cfl rubbermaid box but found that it didnt quite work like i had wanted. I decided to throw in about $420, the price is just random but i find it funny lol.

Anyhow the setup includes:
Most of the items are from amazon.com

4x4x7 ft grow tent - $99.00
Ph control kit - $21.95
BC grow nutes - $26.00 (only going with these because i cant afford FF yet)
400 watt ballast and hood $155
3 gallon grow bags 20 pk - $7.00
box fan for air flow - $19.95
FF Ocean Forest Soil - 19.95
Digital Thermometer and humidity meter - $11.00

Later on when i get more cash i am going to be investing in:

250 cfm duct fan - $33.00 (going to be attaching a carbon filter to it)
Can Carbon Filter $50.00
Clonex - $19.95
Trays with starting blocks havent researched into yet because they will be for clones

Note these are not added to the original $420.00 i will spending to start.


It is a little pricey but i am looking for feedback on prices for cheaper items or different items of same price range that are better for the grow. Also i am going to be using 3 bag seed and 2 femd big bang. This is my second grow and any help would be appreciated. Thanks and awaiting your feedback. Toke on RIU!!

You could make a carbon filter for 13$

I was figuring as much was only going to get this filter because i felt that it would look like a much cleaner setup and not as cheap, but i definitely understand where u are coming from and might actually take it into consideration to lower my cost atm. Thanks for your input and will take it seriously.

just remember the hood needs vent holes or it gets to hot my hood was 109 out the door and has 8in vent hole my hood is not cooled at all and it sits 6in off top of canopy just use oscillating and thats it much cheaper than havin to buy fans venting tube or ducting my set up next grow will be done in grow tent,my light cost hood,bulb switchable ballast and hanging kit under 300 think 265 or so and the grow tent i want is 235 at santee hydro so for right at 500 dollars and that is good soil and the prices are great,good luck bro!!

Thanks Indy im actually going to be purchasing a hood with a heat reflective shield that i forgot to add, and have it cooled with a fan that exhaust out of the top of the tent. If that sounds about right id like to know. Thanks for the info on the heat tho completely slipped my mind and about my previous post before i forgot to add that not only do i want the setup to be a clean one, i also was going to buy the more expensive filter because of where i live and want it to work great instead of something i made because i cant guarantee mine will be amazing and work as well. Smell will be a big issue if i make it a bigger grow because i live in a college apt. off campus of course and they will be constantly coming in and if they hear noise thats fine but if they smell it they may get suspicious.
