So i just built a growbox that i am very proud of, i will be puting my 150 watt hps light in there among many things but i was wondering how important mylar is? if its a big deal ill find some but if not could i just use a gloss white poster board or something along those lines that is easier to come by? I heard of an emergency blanket but the farther i read into it the less of a good idea it seemed to be... any help would be great i just germinated my seeds and would like to get them going as soon as possible

if you can get your hands on a little bit of it, you'll be glad you did...really helps get as much as you can outta your light. that being said white paint will do a decent job if you're strapped

if ur in a box... maybe stick to flat white paint or white plastic sheeting. mylar is great, but it also conducts electricity... so just be mindfull of that if you use it (ie; don't cover the 'floor' with it).

Mylar is not conductive it's an "insulator" but it does build/hold charge -it's used to make capacitors, so it will definitely hold a static charge... that's why you think it's conductive. It's not. I agree, don't use it on the floor as it wouldn't do shit down there...

paint the floor flat white and mylar is the best thing you can get for reflection.

hmmm... you may be 100 percent right... all i know is that when i lined a small grow room back in the day i could get a pretty good Constant buzz while touching it... so it seemed to be conducting to me.
