Naming your cross?

Call it whatever you want, it's weed, it's supposed to be fun. Most breeders are just dudes that are really into weed, can't say there is solid science or running the plant numbers needed in most cases.

I wish people would name their crosses just for brevity’s sake. Typing out some of these polyhybrids is a pain :-|

I've only named a few out of dozens of crosses. The rest I just label them with what they are crosses of.

Durbistan = Durban + Pakistani Chitral Kush

Thaiwaiian = Thai + Hawaiian

Banger Night God = Bruce Banger + CBD God/Night Nurse

Yeah they're not flashy but neither am I.
The guy who tought me called one Orange Gruffy was good smoke

Well, I would go with whenever what you have consistently shows the desired traits in the seed generation, f4 and up I guess. Ideally the initial cross results in something unique that is a good blend of the parents, then it's trying to stabilize that and have it show up more often than not.

At that point, call it what you will.

Man I am glad my hippie parents were not into the popular music of the day when I was growing up. It just sounds terrible to me outside of a few bands.

I use to name them before I ran them. But I do the opposite now so my name actually describes what was the highlight of the gross. Unless I do a F2, OP, reversal, or something that already has one. Or try to be cleaver and create a name that describes the lineage.

You know what i recently found out?...im not a fan of writing out long cross formula on 20+ cups in a row. I really found myself saying i should start naming these things instead of writing out
wc x FL 1, wc x FL 2, etc. 20+ times. That's not fun wtf.

I wouldn't name it anything since it's a polyhybrid. If you propagate the lineage out, select for prime attributes and backcross for stabilization then maybe you can name it.
