A true sativa takes much to much time to mature. After 30 some years of outdoor grows I never plant pure sativa any more. Our frost are to early to let it mature. Plant a good cross or pure indica.True outdoor sativas don't do too well in the NE with the short season. I'm just talking about Mexican bagseed, but even if you wait til December, they still weren't that done.
Not much experience, but a bit - only grew once up there - the indicas were the way to go. They just did better in every respect.
I suppose i should clarify Sativa DOMINANT strains. I agree there is no growing a 10-12 week pure sativa up here. Im just looking for some people experiences with strains that are sativa dominant and will finish in 7-10 weeks tops. I have personally grown Super Lemon Haze outdoors here with good results.A true sativa takes much to much time to mature. After 30 some years of outdoor grows I never plant pure sativa any more. Was getting about 1lb off a 50 gal smart pot placed in a swamp. this yr ill be doing some 100 gal. containers shooting for 2lb plantsWhats the best way to achieve 1.5-2 lb a plant gorilla style
I have a pretty nice patch tht gets alot of sun n especially in the morning....use ffof soil and extra perlite using ff nutes...2x2 big enough or 2x3planting in the ground is convenient since most of the time you can just amend the soil, but if you put in the work of hauling a good soil mix to the right spot you can get some monsters. diy smart pots in the swamp works the best for me, just gotta run the right strain. heres one in a 50 gal container with no bottom placed right in the swamp.

What about eastern pennsylvaniai own a plantation in jamaica (born and raised) we do not grow indicas becuase they do not do well in our hot environments. indica was started in the mountains of nepal where its cool and not alot of sun. you can certainly grow a hybrid in new england or even more west you just really want to pay attention to your area let it speak to you
im in NY @ about 44n.
Thinking about running c99 from female seeds although im not sure about what kind of mold resistance it has.
Not sativa but OG Kush from RP did great out here. almost 1lb plants, very little mold and great smoke. I will be running this again and may try out the OG #18.
I ran Maroc, Green Poison, hashberry and blue cheese last season as well. I will not run any of these outdoors this year.
Im also interested on any input requarding Subcools strains. I have been hearing good things about subcool but i want to run something that will work for this climate. High humidity is the biggest concern.
funny....everything i heard about c99 is it takes 7-8 weeks, which is real early for sativa dom strian. gonna pick some up to try anyways along with the og#18 and jack the ripper.yeah ill b running og #18 myself this season ...but i hate to rain on your party but c99/cindy/cinderella aint worth the run in the east it takes to long i ran several last season and the bitch just started to really show sings in early september i harvested anyways and that shit we called it drama queen because it was still strong as shit....good luck
