Will you completely fill that space with plants? I have a Area 51 XGS 190 half way through flower in a 3'x3' tent on a scrog. Area 51 says a 2.5'x2.5' for flower but I have seen nice development covering 3'x2.5' at 18" to 20" above the plant which makes more sense since the panel is 6" longer than it is wide,so I added a little side lighting in the corners after a couple weeks. I think two of the XGS 190's would do a great job on a 3'x5' area. Here's a couple pics at day 21 in my 3'x3'.

Don't want 2 led's, just 1, don't want to monkey with 2 timers, etc.... Do u use the side clf's for extra light or for more grow room heat to get a higher temp with lights on... Do you need a 8-10 degree temp diff when growing with lights on/off?? Because Led doesn't give off much heat if any??

I don't know of any light that will cover that big of a area, even a 1000 watt HPS will only cover a 4'x4' area. You don't need two timers, you can daisy chain up to 4 XGS's together by plugging one light into the next then into the timer. Those are Cree LED bulbs and I added them because the XGS only covered a 2.5'x3' area of my screen well and I had a full 3'x3' screen. Heat is not a issue for me.

There's not an led that will cover a 40" by 4'or 5' feet (depending how much of the 8 feet avail I use) ... Not worried about heat issues with led, but read before that u need an 8degree difference between lights on and lights off ??????????

There are some cheapo chinese high wattage panels but I would never recommend one to anybody. Apache Tech makes a good 600 watt panel that covers 4x4 for $2000 but two XGS's with cover 3x5 for $1050 and don't be that concerned about the temps when it comes to picking a light unless you live where the climate is extreme.

Hydrofarm timers have two outlets..:eyesmoke:

That length two fixtures are better than one anyway..easier to adjust for taller plants. Or one light and just use the extra width for a nice fan or sumpin'

The long version of the apache 600 would be nice but $$$

I'd go DIY. 4' skinny heatsink..200w driver 4-5 cxa 3070...easy schmeazy. Get crazy and build 2..

I can see where this is going, your trying to spend as little money as you can so you'll probably end up with some chinese knock off. Why do they call it a 600,is it because it's suppose to replace a 600 HPS? It only has 150 3 watt LED's so if they were maxed it would only be 450+. It draws 320 at the wall and that includes power supplies and fans so there is no way it replaces a 600 HPS with the parts they use in it. Good luck to you.

I have a kind l6 #s as stated above are correct. BUT I can say a 2.5 x3 foot spot gets all the juice it needs. Top to bottom. The company was dynamite on customer service as well

regardless of what they say I'm looking at a solid two and a half by three. First step is not trusting the manufacturer make them earn your trust contact them ask them questions you will soon find out who the good ones are that you have looked into so far and who the ones you don't need to look into any further. Seems like there's a lot of information out on good ones and bad ones you'll find it. I only have three that I endorse only because I have them or have seen and been used successfully. Cheers my 2 cents
