NEED some help on light schedule

So my lights go on at 8:30 Pm and go off 8:30 AM. I went in at 1:30 PM to do some quick work and clicked the timer on so I could see for a minute. Problem is I forgot to click it back off and closed the door. I just realized at 7:00 pm and clicked it off.
SO I have given my ladies extra light before on accident, and its been fine. What im wondering is should I just leave the timer so it clicks on at 8:30 Pm and leave it, letting it go back to normal 12/12. Or should I decrease the amount of light it gets tonight (because it got 6 hours when it shouldn't have today). Like make it go off at 4 AM THEN return to normal 8:30 On 8:30 off. Any advice would be nice. Especially if you have had the same experience.

Usually it would take a week or so to start to come back into 18/6 or Veg state. Just this one time, it shouldn't bother it too much if you just went on with your normal light cycle.

I use to work with flip flops on 16 1000Watts and I can tell u finding a right timer that would trip was hard-well UNreliable. That all changed until I broke down and made a good investment. Anyways- i have experince in this. I would simple let my plants drift into a 24hr dark cycle until the NEXT light cycle popped on.. So in your cause, you turned your lights on at 1:30 and than turned them of at 7pm.. Lights go on at 8:30pm.. I would let them sit in the dark for 24hrs UNTIL 8:30 the next day. Its that simple and no harm done AND this does not loose you a week or so on flower..
I am very cynical about making sure my plants get 12/12 un interrupted but I know a grower who run 22lights on flip flop and I am saying this because u would think he CARES but to support what Topher89 says, he thinks its fine if it happens for short periods of time.. I dont know if 6hrs is short and I would give them 24 darkness NEXT time it happens. Just watch our plants for confustion- I dont think their will be any but I think u did delay your flower by a week- again I am cynical and only by watching the plant at the 7-8month mark will tell u if u did any damage or not..
Good luck! Everthing is fine in my opinion!

Mmmm. I put them into a 24 hour dark period right between 18/6 and 12/12, so a 24 hour dark period would also be fine if you hadn't already let them come back on. (not sure if you did)

The sun gives off 10K Lumens on a bright sunny day. When it is stormy out and the sky is pitch black, I'm sure it gives out much, much less.... And plants have lived outside since the dawn of time. Shit happens. The plants will be fine 99% of the time. =)

It could, however, somewhat effect in the end. Only way we will know is when you get to the yield, and compare to other like plants. Either way, you'll get some smoke regardless. bongsmilie

Took off for couple days. Came back, as far as i can tell nothing is wrong, don't even look set back. I'm very familiar with the week by week development. This is first time hydro though so its a little accelerated it seems. Rock hard and have ten days left :)

Make sure that it does not happen again and you will be fine,We all have one mess up like this during the growing. What i normaly do is if i know that the light has been on say for 6 hours more than it should i just give the plant a extra 6 hours of dark the following day but it has only happened a couple of times to me.Then go back to the normal 12/12 scedule.
