I was planning on making a multi chip led grow light that was in an arc. More of a \_/ style with a 50w cool white in the middle, 1 50w blue on the right and 1 50w red on the left. I forget the nm rating but its in the right wavelength for optimum usable light. i hope haha.
Also all the ballasts will be dimmable so ill be able to dial each one back so they make less heat. Probably run a bout 33 watts per chip so itll come in around 100. Thats my goal at least. Might throw a 100 cool white in the middle instead of the 50 so i can keep it at a higher output.
Ive been told by diy led enthusiasts that the lenses help the light penetrate deeper but lose a little light through the glass so i wonder if id be able to go without the lens and get close enough to the plants to make it effective.
