New Cob/LED DIY

Hey Everyone,

Thank you for your time. So I have a 7x7x6 tent and I was interested in possibly building a COBB/LED setup. There is so much information from so many different people. Can anyone suggest a nice setup for this room? My budget is about 500 dollars for the light and fixture. Everything else I already have. Thank you guys sooo much, I am only familiar with HPS, MH, and Chinese LED companies. My HPS just took a shit in my tent so I need to replace.

240w (16 of the 560mm strips in series) on a meanwell xlg240 driver comes in at under £100 on digikey UK.
Those maths could get him to 1000w ish for his $500 (if prices are as good on digikey Where you are)

Although not all the way it's a good start that could be upgraded afterwards and stick a HPS or CMH or something in the middle for the meantime.

@GBAUTO is spot on though you would wanna be aiming around 1500w in a 7x7

I had the UK licence for solstrips. And growbrightleds is mine too mate. I've built one or 2 lights IMHO these £toW are about the best out there

Would you add any other type of lights or leds along with the EB strips or just the strips on there own?

My COB cool tube works pretty well if you've got an odd size space to work with. Decent penetration (using citizen Citiled cluo38's) I usually drive these @1050ma using HLG drivers.

In this case 6 x cluo381206's driven by a meanwell HLG240HC1050B driver. Giving like 226.8w before factoring in driver loss.

I'm not trying to sell any here btw I'll happy send parts list and help anyone that wants to build one but my focus is elsewhere at the moment

I'm interested in what the metal and plastic parts are that you use for your heatsink/cooltube
