New grow room design? Moving back to USA

I am moving back to the USA after living in France for several years. This means I have to purchase all new equipment and set up from scratch. I am hoping to get your tips and recommendations on set up as well as brands you like or others to avoid. This will be a small personal grow, around 12-24 plants. I have been growing in soil and think I will continue but I am open to hearing about the pros/cons of hydro, though I have no experience with it. I'd like to keep the budget under/around $500

watering 24 plants can be a pain in the arse. Try drain to waste hydro, it is an easier transition from soil than recirculating systems, I used to do rockwool hempy buckets, reeeeal easy. You can even set a system up to water for you, I used to put 3 17l buckets on a growbag tray which was on a slight decline. The growbag tray had a drain and I just let it run off into another bucket, once a week id go in and empty the bucket and fill a water butt with nutrients, which are top fed to the plants via a hose.

not in us so don't really know what to recommend as far as equipment goes, but this is a good easy hydro method should you decide to switch.

there may be pics of mine hidden way back in my posts, I believe the strain I was running was sweet tooth. It really is easy hydro, Il be glad to help in any way i can if u want more details
