New Grower Needs a hand with some plant troubles

Hi Guys,

Im having a little trouble with my first grow here, so, i started my plants on a small florescent which definatley do not have the juice to grow my plants, ive ordered a 400 W HPS light and it should get here on Monday, but lately i have been noticing that my plants leaves have started to curl downwards and the lower branch leaves are starting to die from the tips inwards (see pics) Ive done some homework and i think it is due to a PH imbalance so i bought some pool ph testers to test the water going in and the water draining out after i flushed it, the ph is low but not out of hand low ( around 5.9 if the color codes on the ph tester box is correct) I just wanted too check to make sure that i need to adjust my ph before i went ahead and did that,

also, on a side note, if this is in fact the problem, are there any basic PH modifiers that you may know of that are readily available (ie. not at a hydro store or something like that) as there is no hydro store in my town, and it is winter, so seasonal growing supplies are at a minimum.

Any responses would be greatly appreciated, Thanks in advance,
Noobie

The ph is low it should be between 6.5 and 7. if its out of range it can cause nute lock so your plants can't take up nutrients. i would adjust your ph. how much do you fertilize? there is ph up and down stuff you could add to water when you water. you could add lime that you can get at home depot or garden stores to add to your soil and i think there's a kind you could add to water.

it looks like it could be PH, but also over watered

there are many natural things you can use to change the PH of your water, look it up on google. at the top of my head im thinking a few vinegar or lemon juice might do the trick

i havent been fertilizing at all latley, i just transplanted it to a bigger pot with new soil so i didnt see the point, i did just flush it so it may act overwatered but i try not to water it untill the soil is very dry knuckle deep

ill check google for in vater ph heighteners thanks for the info guys
