Hi all. I'm currently growing scrog in soil, but really want to try hempy. Specifically a perpetual sog with a couple of mothers of different types to take clones from. Also some straight from seed to try out different strains.

I'm thinking dyna-gro grow (did i make that up?) sounds like a nice simple start to finish feed, and in perlite (maybe with vermiculite).

I was thinking i could have a nice easy to manage system by putting 1 litre tetra pak cartons in rows of square guttering so all the run off ends up in one place. No mess, no fuss.

So, questions... is 1 litre too small a container for a sog setup? I understand the concept od drain to waste, but is there any harm in collecting said waste to start up the next mix of feed, as this would be very simply done using the guttering as i thought i might try.

Consider me a noob as far as hydro goes, i've read about various systems, but think i'd like to start with hempy till i get the hand of mixing up feed. Also it seems a good way to do a perpetual sog.

Thanks all.

As long as it's a true sog (no veg) 1 l containers should be fine.

As for nutes, I used GH maxibloom for veg and flower all the way through. Also added dyna-gro protekt for silica. And roots excel for the roots (obviously). Ph to 6 every time, water every other day or so. Produced sticky stanky nugs.

You'll have to tweek it, but I bet it'll work.

I've seen plenty of dudes that are using 1L bottles to SOG with, so as long as you don't veg em', you'll be alright.

I use dyna gro for pretty much everything, and it works well. I used their bloom nutes last time, but some of the fans began to yellow later in the bloom phase, so this time I'm going to stick with the grow formula.

I've seen dudes get great results with the flora nova bloom series as a one part, and there are dudes here that are growing MONSTERS using soil and maxsea nutes. There's also the Jacks classic option as a one part.

Best of luck, regardless.
