Newbornes that looked "pinched"

ive had a few plants(sproutings) that grew for 1 or 2 days and the stalk of the baby looked like it got pinched, and it died. Ive seen this happen to a few plants and im confused on what causes this. Is it genetics, or is it heat stress, what is it, anyone know? any help will be appreciated.

you mean they are stretching up towards the light and the stems snap on them? kinda like they cant hold up their own weight?

sorry i dont have any pics of them, but it looks like a normal plant at the height of 2 inches, however the middle of the stem is shrivled, like it got pinched. not too much to explain.

I've seen that happen too and just kinda wrote it off as a bad plant. Would be interesting to see if we can find out what causes it...

ya, im begining to think it was just a "bad" seed. like someone with down syndrome. (no hard feelings, sorry if i affended anyone)
