so im a noob but im not .... theres under a handfull of things that i dont know ...... one thing that im really confused about is when ppl say ...." im in flowering and im feeding it 10 - 30 - 10 " .. now thats just an example but what does 10 - 30 -10 stand for ? is it 10 parts gro 30 parts bloom 10 parts micro ? can someone please explain this in the easiest understandable way possible :hump: another thing i dont understand is 'cloning' ..... so you veg a plant ... 2 months goes by and its big .... so you need to tell the sex and flower it ...... you find out its a female ....... how do you keep it as a clone plant ? just put it back to veg ( but wouldnt that stress and kill it ) is it possible to keep it in flowering and just cut off a few nodes for cloning ?

greatly appreciated
cheers:blsmoke:

No 10-30-10 are the nutrient makeup. It's the type of fertilizer most people suggest to use during flowering.

and theres 3 nutrients required for growing, correct ? Micro Gro and Bloom ? or was i told incorrectly from the hydroponics store ? buddy sold me General Hydroponics brand of " FloraMicro 5-0-1" .... "FloraGro 2 -1 - 6" ... "FloraBloom 0 - 5 - 4 " ..... are these no good to use throughout my grow ? the numbers seem kinda low

you can revert you plants from flower to veg if you want to make a mother for cloning. It will take a bit of intense light. i dont think a few cfl's will do it. Cfls will veg plants by themselves but you need more to revert the plant from flowering. Secondly it will stress the plant but it should recover with proper care and conditions. Lastly, maybe try taking your clones before you put them into a 12/12 cycle for flowering. Make sure and label what clones came from which plant, then once the adults show sex, you can remove the males adults and clones together.

you mean veg a massive plant hoping to be female and if it is then take clones ? whats a sea of green ? i think id do what drock suggested .... take some clones before i go to 12/12 ..... when its in 12/12 does it have to be exact timing ( by the min for example) or if its lights on a minute longer then 12 hours will that back a problem ?

the three numbers (0-5-0 or whatever) represent the three main nutrients plants need N (nitrogen) P (phosphorous) K (potassium). This is different from the terms Grow Bloom and Micro. Grow is a mix formula of N-P-K that is beneficial to plants during the seedling/vegetative state, Bloom is a mix formula of N-P-K that is beneficial to a plant during the budding stages of your plant. On top of these three main nutrients your plant needs an assortment of Micro-nutrients in small amounts, these are what would be referred to as 'Micro' and are need by your plant all through out it's life.

As far as the cloning goes, IMO clones should be taken from plants right before going 12/12, keep the females get yourself a mother (a plant thats only used to take clones from) and your in business. Happy Growing!

and as far as the 12/12 goes, it doesn't have to be to the minute. If its off by 5, 10, 15 minutes even a half an hour, it shouldn't make too much of a diffrence, I've heard of people too lazy to get a timer and just doing it manually and not having too much trouble. The big thing is to make sure for the 12 hours of darkness, you have no light leaks and it is in fact completely dark. Happy Growing!

sea of green is a growing technique where you grow a number of plants just long enough to harvest the tops, the idea is to grow lots of small plants in a short period of time. so, say you had a mother plant you can take clones from, you would take as many as you could fit into your grow space, veg them for just over a week or so, and then go right into 12/12, flower for your 7-12 weeks, harvest, and do it all over again.

keep in mind, a clone from a mother that is say 8 weeks old, will be genetically the same age. Once you take a clone and get it to take root (7-14 days), you can put it straight into flowering. If i understand correctly also, the THC content will be higher in the clone also. This may be what the quote above meant but once i heard this it made much more sense to me. The advantage of clones taken from the same mother is that they will all grow exactly the same way and at the same rate. This is if the conditions are the same as when the mother was grown though. Excess blah blah blah will change things. You can keep a perpetual harvest going in a relatively small area and keep yourself supplied well.

that is incorrect. the clone has the exact same DNA, and therefore the same THC content as the mother plant. one could of course take into account tiny variables which might influence THC inconsistencies between multiple clones, such as one plant being closer to the light, or receiving a different nutrient solution than another plant. but in equal conditions, clones will have no more or no less THC content than the mother plant.

or should i be addin other stuff in .. ie molassys or whatever ?
molasses in a hydro system = nasty mess

if you want a bloom booster, use kool bloom by general hydroponics. since it sounds like you are at least partially familiar with their 3 part flora series.

im usin a soil grow ..... i will most likely scrounge up money somehow to get bloom booster ..... is it for veg or flower stage ? what are the benifits of using it as opposed to not ?

Well, as the name suggest, bloom booster is used durring bloom, "flower stage". Be carefull with boosters, more is not always better. There is a balance that should be maintained, but if used properly, a bloom booster such as Koolbloom, can increase the space with in the flower to produce a heavier bud, due to the space being filled with resin and oil...THC

the clone will have the exact DNA and THC content but will it continue to raise in THC levels as you flower it for X amount longer? I have no info for or against this, just curious?
