Growing in a speaker box, in need of advice about soil and lighting.

My box is 1'X1'X2' yes I know yield will be small but if harvest is successful I will increase number of plants.(all in separate boxes) I need help to know what screw in lightbulb to buy. And what my light cycle should be. After a lot of reading on these forums I keep running into the problem of not understanding what numbers and abbreviations mean. I read I want a blue light for the main growth of my plant then switch to a red/yellow. But what exactly do I buy? I prefer fluorescent for their lack of heat. Then also I was wondering what soil to buy and where I could get small fans.

18 hrs on,6hrs off cfl(compact flourescent), 6500k, then, when ready to trigger plants to flower, change the timer to 12 hrs on/12 hrs off.
small fans are in computers, and at walmart.

6500K is the kelvin or color temp of a light source. You will want 6500K or close to it whatever you can find for vegging. For flowering you will want 2700K or thereabouts. If you can I ould suggest at least 2 bulbs per growth stage. You can get Y splitters that will allow you to double up.

This is very basic stuff, it is obvious that although you say you have been reading, you have not done enough. There is tons of great info here and if read and learned, can walk you through your grow step by step.

We are all here to help as well. Check the Grow Videos sticky post in the Newbie forum. It has several how to videos from master growers for first timers.

The 2 main components to a successful grow are knowledge and simplicity. A cannabis plant wants to grow it just needs a lot of love and thoughtful attention. Good Luck!
