Northern lights pollen collection / sexing issue

ok so out of my 4 northern lights original i ended up with one male for sure no doubt in my mind flowering for almost 3 weeks now waiting for it to be ready for pollen collection be for flowering for sex i of course cloned all plants so i also flowered the clone of the male its about a week and a half behind they looked really good everything ok now i noticed out of maybe 50 or 100 male flowers on the 3 week old flowering plant has pistils coming out of the male flowers is this hermi caused my environment or genetics ? if the clone does not hermi will that answer my question ? and should i still collect this pollen or find a new subject cause cloning is beautiful but i feel much better keeping fresh seeds around and pollen
any knowledge on the subject would be greatly appreciated searching only seemed to come up with regular female to male hermi and no info on using the pollen or males doing this my guess not a lot of regular home growers keep males long enough to ever have this problem

Nah its the wall of text without punctuation/standard English form. Then on top of that you're conceptually drifting in that run mash of thoughts. Even my tolerance was near zero for trying to decipher it. Still trying to figure out what you're getting on about actually.

And in general, if you're describing something like this you'll need a picture to generate input. It's not conceptual input, but "I see XXX. What do you think it looks like." is more or less how that came across.


Minor pistil like formations around male pollen sacs can occur. Again, no idea what you're actually looking at. Determining full hermaphroditic traits requires going longer than most like to do. Hence the knee jerk response to kill any aberrant growth.


Not jabbing at you. You just have to keep in mind that if you lay out your questions in a format people can read quickly, it wont get skipped. For some reason people keep thinking that texting format works for everyone and in all mediums. Like, if you're going to post from your phone, find the cap shift or turn back on the auto syntax correction. Phone interface is also horrible for adding proper returns at end of lines.

Psari has a point but I get what you are asking. DJ Short will tell you a reverse hermaphrodite will yeild more females with less hermaphrodite tendencies. Others will disagree, so your only option is to test this theory for yourself. It's not like you have another male to use anyways so use it. I'm wondering if you have actual pistils or if it's just some natural formations on the male that fooled you. Pollen should be dropping anytime, are you collecting it or letting it pollinate on iut's own?

interesting i want to know were to find more on that. my macro water proof camera was not that water proof so tomorrow i will track down one to use and put a photo up. i have been growing on\off for years this is new sight to me. its simply a male flower with 2 pistils coming out the center as it started to open. yes i want to collect pollen to make seeds and send some pollen to a friend

this is good news yes !! when searching for more information on this what should i be searching for?. the second male (clone) has yet to give me and signs that is going to hermi like its father did maybe environmental factor cause this it was vary cold in my green house about a week ago
