Dude ... the SC doesn't take away constitutional rights ... it just rules on the constitutiionality of laws. That's it. The liberals who've sat on the SC have done their best to shred the Constitution. You can't see that?

No they didn't, only in your narrow view of the world did they shred the constitution. Believe me they will take away your personal rights, just hide and watch... When they do, I'll point it out to you and rub it in.

Dank ...

When a judge finds things in the Constitution that doesn't exist in order to further a political agenda, that's in effect, shredding the Constitution. And THAT is the Left's forte, not the forte of the Conservatives.

Maybe I should define what I mean by "Conservatives." I'm not talking about the John McCaines, or the George Bushes here. I'm talking about those who take conservatism seriously. Barry Goldwater, Ronald Reagan, Alan Keyes and Ron Paul come to mind as good examples. These are people who believe in a smaller, less intrusive federal government. These are people who believe in originalist thought and actions by the Supreme Court as it pertains to the Constitution.

Do you remember Bush's first choice for a seat on the Supreme Court, Dank? It was Harriet Myers. The consevative base raised such a stink that Bush couldn't put Myers on the court. Therefore, we have some new constructionists on the court instead.

In your opinion, Dank ... why isn't Robert Bork sitting on the court? Please answer ... thanks.

Bork is not setting on the supreme court because of his role in Watergate..
When Elliot Richardson and Williams Ruckleshaus resigned because they were not going to fire Archibald Cox because he demanded that Nixon turn over the tapes, Bork who was next in line as attorney general did fire Cox. This was a political firing, just like what Alberto Gonzales did.
Historical fact here Vi, when Bork was nominated he lost it because of his record as acting attorney General during the Nixon administration. He let Ideology get in the way of what was right.

I hate to tell you this Vi Reagan wasn't even in the same league as Berry Goldwater, he goes into the Neo-conservative column.

Here we are with the Nixon red herring again.

Bork was not selected to the SC because of his VERY conservative and constitionalist viewpoints. Remember, Dank ... the Democrat Party (socialists) had the majority in the Senate at the time of Bork's nomination by Reagan.

Here's an interesting site for you: Slouching Towards Gomorrah, By Robert Bork, Chapter 11: Feminism

Slouching Towards Gomorrah, By Robert Bork, Chapter 11: Feminism

It's a semi-review of Bork's book titled: "Slouching Towards Gomorrah -- Modern Liberalism and American Decline."

Read what you can and you may change your viewpoint on Bork, the Supreme Court and the constitutional function thereof.

By the way, I own a leather bound, signed copy of the book.
