Nutrient truncheon???

Hi everyone, I am new to the site so hello. I need some advice please, I recently bought a nutrient truncheon for hydroponics but what I really wanted was a PH tester, is there anyway to calculate the ph with the truncheon I have or do I need a different truncheon? Any help much appreciated.
(This is a great site by the way, especially for first time growers like myself)

It's not such a bad thing. The nutrient truncheons are excellent, and this will enable you to give optimum nutrients.

Both tools are essential for optimum growing.
