Official Gaia Green Grow Method

Thing is while it was growing/drying it absolutely STUNK like a SKUNK...mine was pretty intense...but afterwards yes it's more fruity berry-ish def didnt retain that lovely skunk smell/taste I was hoping for but it's still very tasty and stinky smoke! bongsmiliebongsmilie
Skunkman Sam purposely bred out the roadkill off this pheno, some get confused about it for the name of his cut. You'd expect some roadkill with the name Skunk in the there, but with the Columbian and Mexican crosses, more Sativa than anything. I knew that going in and wasn't expecting roadkill.

Hey all,

I think that this is an important topic and I haven't seen a thread that's really dedicated to this.
Whether you use Gaia Green or another similar brand (like Dr. Earth), it would be great to have a place we can consolidate our process info.

I'll start here. Throw darts at it and let's come up with a process that can work well in most cases.

Germinating and Veg:

  • Mix your starting soil with Gaia Green All-Purpose Fertilizer 4-4-4 (or similar) according to the package directions.
  • Use this in your red solo cups and in your one-gallon pots.
  • After three weeks in one-gallon pots, top-dress with a tablespoon of 4-4-4. At this point the plants are around 5-6 weeks old.
  • A week later, up-pot to your desired pot size with soil that has been amended with 4-4-4.
Flower:
  • A week after transplanting to larger pots, top-dress 1 TBSP per gallon of soil. At this point in time, use half 4-4-4 and half 2-8-4 Power Bloom.
  • Every three weeks, top-dress at 1 TBSP per gallon of 2-8-4 Power Bloom only.
There it is, a starting point to throw darts at. If we can come up with a great process as a community, even if it takes a while, I'll retype it as a set of instructions to guide growers with this method of growing. Is this a good idea for us to do?
Recently jumped into the organic dry fertilizer game and have to say in week 3 of flower I'm thrilled at the results and the convenience of not having to mix liquid fertilizer. Have yet to see the first hint of deficiency/toxicity. I'm using a different brand but I'm still blown away by the results. Wish I'd jumped on this wagon long before now but better late than never. Using dr earth pretty much following some great YT vids stealth grows channel although dosing somewhere between his recipes (higher) and dr earth schedule (lower). Great topic. Thanks.

Just to point out the "obvious", perlite doesnt count in the sum for the dosages as per gallon.
Like if you have 10 gal of coots mix the actual nutritious medium is ~6.6 gals so the dosage should be calculated for the actual amount of organic matter

How the taste and effect ? And the nose? For some reason I’m favoring the one on the right (slightly larger one)……although they’re both gorgeous.
Lol, that's two of us.. curious to see what livingthedream says. My phenos smelled different as well. Still drying so I have a ways to know the taste difference.

Interesting, how about the use of peat? That's an inert media too.

I've had three weed cookies in past 4 hours...try my best to describe them
So the one on the left was my biggest yielding plant, ended with about I think 5 1/2 oz off her...about 4/5 weeks (I think) Into flower she started to turn purple, like entire plant turned purple (check out the journal)
I harvested this plant after 12 weeks in flower (8 weeks my ass)
(I stopped here last night cuz I just couldn't keep going lol)
Ok, this one smells extremely berry-ish...when I open the jars I smell like a mixed berry smell, also get a nice berry taste when I smoke it
This plant was dried n cured using the cannatrol
Sat in cure mode for about 20 days before I jarred it up
The bud on the right was harvested at 11 weeks, I believe I yielded little over 3-4 oz off her
This was dried n cannatrol then cured for 4.days in cannatrol, then jarred for about a 4.days before going back into cannatrol to cure more
Then back out to go into jars
Anyways this one is 100% diff for smell, I'm having a hard time really figuring out what word to use
It has that like earthy pungent smell (I think)
Just hard for me to describe the smell, but smells very lovely and taste almost better
Almost like a hashy taste to it

Looks beautiful! Nice Job. Where are those seeds from? This is a strain i've always wanted to grow. Green Crack has always been a fav and I know that Skunk #1 is a parent.
Attitude seed bank
G13 Genetics

Yes, I still visualize this beautiful bud of Green Crack I was owned...never wanted to smoke it, was absolutely breath taking. I do have one Green Crack fem seed from BlimBurn I received as a free bee...plan on popping her my next run

Yah I said fuck it after harvesting my first plant...in a diy tote I made...having to constantly worry about humidity n shit It sucked...don't really have an entire room I can dedicate to drying n I wasn't gonna buy another tent just to do that...and my plants were not finishing at the same time so I couldn't dry in my grow tent which I originally thought I was.gonna do, went back n forth on it for about 3 days n I'm so glad I did, another two plants turned out worlds apart from the one that never saw the cannatrol

That purple one just makes me wanna go to fucking bed n I usually end up passing out late at night smoking that. :blsmoke:

That's all for now

I wouldnt say for peat too cause it leaches nutrients i guess. There must be a little absorption eventually right?

I made a batch of coots bout a month ago for 3x 15gal pots but extra on perlite in total 23gals perlite and 18gal sphagnum and ewc equal parts. I water for 18 gals and plants love it.

Always had a bit of overwatering issues due to sphagnum holding a lot of water and ever since i added more perlite and water strictly 10-15% of the absorbing medium i have absolutely no issues and can let the rh run high. Im in plant modeling apparently lol i was super stoked to finally settle the watering for the sphagnum. More perlite. Even for the dry amendments i exclude the perlite from the calculation. Seems to work:blsmoke:

I just might try this formula. Thanks for sharing.
