Wow! Talk about a topic we could go all day on. I say top or fim only if you have no other options.

Here's what Jorge Cervantes says in Marijuana Outdoors: Guerilla Growing.
Pruning and Bending

Bend for security - disguise plants in the garden by making it into a hedge.

Bending and pruning change the growth pattern of cannabis, affecting physical shape, liquid flow and hormone concentration. Pruning strongly affects the plant, while bending has more subtle affects. When a branch is pruned off, new branches grow form the nodes just below the cut. Tis does not mean the plant wil grow twice as much. A branch amputation is not going to make it grow faster or add any more foliage.

Bending is similar to pruning. Bending alters the flow of hormones, but unlike pruning, it does not remove them. It is much easier on plants than pruning. (pp. 62-63)

if you fim you end up with 4+ tops how will that reduce your yield? last grow I had 2 clones from the same mother one I topped , 1 I didn't, I doubled my yield on the clone that was topped. There was no effect on potency whatsoever. I always fim or top my plants and will continue to do so as long as I grow.

Okay I'm confused. I cut three of them off, I thought they grow back. I cut them from the stem. Did I fuck up?!?! It won't die and please tell me they will grow back!?!

I'm talking about during vegetation to BTW.

They won't grow back. Fan leaves routinely die off as the plant matures. The plant will lose the leaves when they are no longer efficient.

Cutting off three fan leaves should not have a measurable effect.

Ok good, well one fan leaf was covering up a chute i guess that's what you call it.

it was covered completely so I think it was better that i cut that one off.
