organic cloning?

for some ppl the bubbler cloner works for some ppl the plant just start rotting... I just use cloning gel or powder, you cant get it at walmart...
I bet the reason you ended up with rot was either because there was not enough air in the water or the water was too warm.

You can build a simple dwc cloner for like $30 and get everything you need at wal mart. I have 100% success just about every time. I will lose maybe one clone every 3 months or so.

Once it is built you will never have to buy rooting hormone or anything again. And you can even root with tap water. RO water works better, but you can easily do it with tap water.

They are really easy to make.

All you need is 1 1/2 gallon tupperware, some air stones, tubing, air pump, and duct tape. You can get the pumps at wal mart. Get an air pump rated for a 30-60 gallon aquarium. They are like $20. They have ones that are only like $10 that are rated for 20-60 gallons, but the more expensive ones work MUCH better.

Just cover the container in duct tape so no light can get in. Cut as many 1/2"-3/4" holes in the lid as you need clones. Cover the lid including holes with duct tape. (You can make it more permanent by using the neoprene disks for power cloners. Just use a hole saw to cut the correct size hole for the plug. It is easier to to get the clones out this way but you can't fit nearly as many in the same space.)

Fill the container with water, put the air stones in the water with the tubing going through the lid so it can still close. Plug in your pump and let your water start bubbling. (The "bubble wands" and flexible bubblers from the hydro shops work better than the bars, but you can get away with using the bar if you want to save some money.)

Cut a small "X" in the duct tape over the hole you want to put a clone in and put the stem through the tape up to the first set of leaves left on the clone. If the clone sits at an angle don't worry about it. As long as the bottom of the plant is happy, the top will be happy as well.

Simply add water as needed to the cloner and you will see roots in 5-14 days. You can use tap water or RO water. The RO water will root faster, but you can get away with tap water. All you will have to buy ever again is duct tape to cover the holes.

To remove the clones, cut the duct tape around the hole, in a square just bigger than the hole. Peel the tape up and cut off with scissors. Then simply wiggle your clones out of the holes and pot them up into soil or what ever medium you use to grow.

I just cloned 100 percent successgul using this method. Take some cutting fresh from your plants. Slice off with a razor blade. Take and while holding under water recut at a 45degree angle to paranoically :) prevent air embolisms ( air getting trapped in stem) and then

take regular coffee can with plastic lid
poke holes in lid
place ro water up to limit
place lid one
place airstone in attached to pump

and then place cuttings into the coffee can. You should see roots in a few days. This one strain I have (I have two strains) took like 2 weeks though, weird but others took a few days. I have done this with nothing but ro water and done this with a few organic "helpers". liquid karma, etc. I did not even use cloning gel. Very easy. I am happier to use RR as they give a more stable clone but I am sure you have been told this already.

Take cut.
place in RR
use dome for 2 days
dont mist plants, just lid
wait. keep moist.

dont use any chems, it still works. I use liquid karma dip. 10 ml to a gallon of ro water. Also I dropped some bat guano in their as I hear P helps. I have 100 percent luck with this but it takes a little while longer than can with less success rate. Better clones tho. I will rip out a dwc clone in favor of a stronger RR clone.

the coffee can is the dwc. does not get more simple than that. Just water inside. Roots in one week. If not the cut was dirty or it was to cold. Seriously I get roots in this in 100 degree weather outside but not in 70. So just try it and dont even worry about yer temps, lol. FOOLPROOF!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! :) use fresh cuts.

They root easier in 100degree weather outside because the inside temp is closer to 75-80 degrees. This is the correct temp for the cloner. Your water is usually about the same temp as your ambient temps.

If the temps get much higher than this, the water will not hold as much disolved oxygen and this will cause you to lose clones.

The reason they don't root as fast in 70degree weather is probably because the night time temps in your cab are closer to 60-65 degrees. The water falls to this temp, and it is hard to root clones when their root zone is this cold.

Next time its 70degrees out, put a heating pad under you cloner or a small fish tank heater in there, and you will root just as quick as when the temps are hotter out side.

And RO is means Revers Osmosis. Most drinking is RO water. Make sure its not spring water, but filtered drinking water. You can get it for like 60cents a gallon at walmart. And once you buy the jug, you can get it for 25cents a gallon from the little water kiosk places.

alright. im gonna get some ro water and a airstone. then i have everything. so i guess spring water isnt as good as ro? i have like 4 gallons of purified spring water. im not worried about it tho. for 60 cents a gallon its worth it.

i built the cloner. i have one clone in it. i used an old air stone my girlfriend gave me. it still worked perfectly fine. im not sure of the rating but it looks legit. anyway i used a coffee can instead cuz this is only a one time use.

i just topped a smaller plant. about six inches tall with about 5 sets of leaves. ive never topped before. but im hoping i get at least 2 main colas to grow back.

im gettin mad. i cant get my profile picture to show up. it shows it whn i click "my rollitup" but when i post stuff it dosnt show up.
