If your growing outdoors. I would either make some compost or buy some and mix in with soil in off season time and let it sit till grow time. About a month before planting time I would mix in a little blood meal and bone meal, maybe earthworm casting. Thats what I do in Veg. garden and it works good. The organic stuff needs a bit to break down. I make my compost out of household vegetable scraps and tea bags all year long. Just turn it every once in a while and when you get ready just dig out the good stuff on the bottom. I may try a little stealth outdoor growing this year myself.
