Out of curiousity, even though I planted late, I just planted some seeds into a miracle grow and perlite mixture into the ground today. I figured it should not be a problem because lately we dont get cold weather untill feb. or march.

Anyone by chance know if planting this late could be unsuccessful, if i do not force them to flower?

I threw 7 seeds into a 2 x 2 mix soil and watered slightly. It will get some sun and has plent of tree shade for security, not to much but enough where plants can get light. I expect a few to not make it , which is why I threw 7 into a relatively close space. I figure I may only get 1 to 3 plants out of this patch. Seeds are nothing special, some i pick from some good soil base.

I will be able to provide water, tap though and occasionally check up on it for problems.

Even if it did I planted mine on a incline slightly. The water will just travel and run off right next to the storm drain or what ever its called. lol... I figured now the weather should be perfect for the seeds to get good roots in so if it does rain the trees and shrubs around it will protect it and the water excess will simply run off and not flood as much as it if it was planted on a flat plain.
