I was looking to grow outdoors (first time) and was wondering when would be best to plant outside??

Kind of depends on the weather, where you live. Around here (Midwest USA) June is planting time.

I live in tx so would it be around april or may?

I can't say for 100%, but I would guess closer to May - you want to be sure you're clear of the danger of a late frost.

you could get away with late april no problem maybe earlier but you have to factor in the whole it could start flowering if you plant to early deal.
