Penalites jail time? for AUSTRALIA

yea titles says it all
from what ive gathered 4 plants is allowed for personal use but after that there may be trouble

yes yes i am scared of droppin the soap but iv heard that after 4 plants u may aswell go 50+ plants as there is no difference in penalty.....

could anybody please add any info on this onn the laws for NSW

just starting my grow in a hydro set up next week but i got a whole garage to myself

4 Plants has usually always been the rule of thumb in most states of Australia... maybe one extra in the ACT or SA.... but the 'actual' laws always seem to be a very grey area that always changes from case to case.....

Ive seen guys do time over a couple of 1/4's..... and Ive seen guys with up to 5x '2 POUND' monsters walk away with a slap on the wrist... so it kinda varies in reality

Best advice I was given in regards to 'If things go wrong' scenario is to make an appointment to see a criminal lawyer that specializes in getting people off these kinds of charges... you know the ones in the paper that advertise for drink driving, violence, drug charges etc.

No matter what a police officer tells you the laws are.... it isnt gonna mean shit when court day comes....

Better off asking the guy that keeps people out of jail everyday

Jimmy summed it up pretty well I think and every case is usually different. Many other factors can come into play when in court such as the judge you get, how hard the prosecutor is and most of all how much your mouthpiece (barrister) is worth and if he/she is great at what they do.

But in all seriousness, you should take the time to consult one of these specializing lawyers.
It might cost you $50... but it will give you some piece of mind (less paranoia) of exactly what will happen if things go pear shape....
It will give you boundaries... so that you know what the repercussion for your actions will be IF it goes bad....
Better than seeing the lawyer after you have been busted and him telling you... "Sorry mate! But you are F#cked!"
