he hit that nail right on the thumb.
Joining up with Jesus is one of the few things I would prevent my kid from doing. I don't trust those fucking people. Be religious all you want, but those folks that go out and recruit teens are pretty suspect IMHO.

I find drag queens reading to kids much less concerning than dudes in their 30s interpreting the Bible at 12 year olds. Those fabulous glamazons just don't set off alarm bells in the same way.

Teaching Southern Baptist Christianity is like teaching kids to sniff glue...

The fact is, those that continue the believe the nonsense have been programmed for it by parents and their community, which is slanted to the same extremists' views, or they are just stupid and ignorant, many times both. The bunch who calls themselves Christians are not; they don't actually know anything about Christianity and they sure as shit don't practice it. You don't "find" Jesus to get through the pearly gates, you attain a state of grace, according to Christian doctrine, not some hillbilly bible school. So, they figure if they squeeze their eyes shut really hard and believe everything no matter how absurd they will make it to Heaven. However, they have a problem, a just God judges us by our thoughts, words and deeds, and ya can't get to heaven with hate in yer heart and bigotry on yer back. It wouldn't really be Heaven if it was full of assholes, would it?

Both deal in “revealed truth”.

But the drag queens have the decency to do it in a private stall because they have to pee.
