No training for these. Vegged for 12 days.

Casey Jones, fimmed as soon as the clone rooted. After 3 weeks the highest branches were fimmed. Now 4 weeks later in it bent under the screen.

This Casey was treated the same as above, except instead of screen to bend I used sticks with garden wire.

I think I will make some Casey Jones pesto sauce for easter.

looking goooood bender

mmmmm, grapefruit :)
Hey Welcome TTT, you haven't made an appearance in my thread for ages.

I have never grown without training before, I am excited to see how the grapefruit grow one main big cola.

Welcome Fingers. So happy you have arrived in the thread, would be nicer if you did pack your bags and came to visit. We could roll the entire 20g in a nice fatty, lol that would be a mission on its own.

Still have some health issue to resolve but I am happy to tell you that things are moving in a positive direction and pain has been manageable, at least more than before.

Happy Easter.

CJ Veg Day 44 / CD, GR, GFH Veg Day 16

FIMMED the CJs, most of the highest nodes.
FIMMED 2 Chem Ds
Super Cropped 1 Chem D
Left 1 as control
FIMMED both Grape Roms.
Fimmed the GFH

I think I might have gone a bit wild with FIMMING, I don't want to wait more than a week or at max a week and a half to start flowering.

I hope they can bounce back for the training.

Todays tea consisted of:

Shiva A/B @ 7 mL/gal
Cal-Mag @ 4 mL/gal
Roots Excelurator @ 1 mL/gal
Silica Blast @ 3 mL/gal
Great White @ 1 scoop/2gal
Molasses @ 8 mL/gal

So I am going nuts as usual, once a month I go crazy researching on different nutes. I still haven't found something cost effective that I love.
As usual I end up in circles between Canna, H&G, Botanicare, and a few others.

So far the only things I am certain about are

Roots Excelurator by H&G
Cal-Mag by Botanicare
Great White by Plant Success
Silica by whoever
Ful-Power by BioAg

I still haven't made up my mind about the base nutes for my coco. I really want to try sensi bloom by A.N. but I am not sure how it would be in coco. I am thinking about H&G Cocos, I don't think I can go wrong with that.

For PK boosters, I have Hydroplex by Botanicare on hand along with Atamis Bloombastic. I know hydroplex is pretty weak, and bloombastic is too new to have reviews on it. I did use bloombastic last run, I did like it but it gave me slight PK burn.

Hammerhead/MOAB combo is one route I could take this round or I could go with rest of the H&G line.

H&G line would run me the cheapest, as I will get away with using only 1 sachet, I think even that will go to waste. Top Shooter is cheap, I only need a little bit. Multizyme is kinda expensive but I guess it is good, its more concentrated than hygrozyme so end up just a tad cheaper. I won't need drip clean, I hand water. I already got a bottle of Bud-XL, so we are good on that.

So fellows please Chime in and POST your thoughts. Thanks.

Ever used Bio Nova?or Plagrond also do a very good range. Both from the land of Cloggs and organic.

The sun is shining today, and I just got a text that it is minus 2 in Scotland....hopefully a bit warmer outside in NL or my knee is not going to be happy, hahaha.

Peace, DST

Not surprisngly, everything looks great. This is gonna be a fun round to watch. As far as the nutes, I would use the H&G Cocos A/B as your base. It is just a great base nute. By the way, where did you get those round screens that you are using?

Hey bud, how's everything with you man. All going good here. Just finishing manicuring the last round.

Yeah man, I am going with your H&G, simply because you are doing great in them, and they are the cheapest.

I knew those round screens would be a hit. They are from Home Depot in the Gardening Section, next to the tomato trellis. I actually used them last round as well, but the casey covered them so well that no one saw them.

Welcome bro, glad to have you here.

TBH I got my money on the Grape Rom for the yield and potency, that is if I ended up with the real deal.

Hey bro, never used those. I am just going to end up with H&G which raider is using and getting stellar results. They are also the most conveniently available to me and the cheapest.

I feel you man, the extreme temperatures really mess with my health too. But I reckon you Scottish Lads are more rugged.

Yeah man. I guess we did the bubble dance on the same night. Cheers. I pulled off 17g of Primo Full Melt Casey Jones 25 micron bubble.

I have been experimenting with cloning for last 6 months. I only experimented with cloning in coco and rock wool cubes but tried a lot different mixes.

Results as of now:
Coco: 5-7 days, at least 6 in roots, ready for transplant.
Rockwool: 6-9 days at least a dozen 4 in hairs a sticking out of the rock wool.

Technique

Tea mix in R/O
Base nutes @ 1/4 strength
Cal-Mag @ 5 mL/gal
Roots Excelurator @ 1 mL/gal
Great White @ 1/2 scoop/gal
Ful-Power @ 15 mL/gal
Molasses @ 7 mL/gal
Silica Blast @ 5 mL/gal

Depending on the base nutes the pH should come out very close to 5.5-5.7.

Coco: Put the coco in a small container, I usually cut the top half of a small plastic water bottle and poke a lot of whole on the sides and bottom of the lower half.

Fill it with coco, and flush with the tea mix from above, with 50 percent run-off. Put it aside for a few hours or even a day to get the bacteria growing in there.

Then just dip the stem in cloning gel/power/solution. I have only used clonex, I am sure others will probably work fine. After dipping poke it in the coco about 75% deep.

If the cuttings are weak then a humidity dome would be necessary, but I never use the dome for cloning in coco, I just flush it with the tea once and forget about it until the roots show up. As the coco drys, the start to grow crazy in search for water, if you humidity is too low and the coco dries up just use the tea at half strength and pH it to 5.5-5.7.

Rock Wool:

Dip the RW in 1/8 base nutes and pH to 5.5-5.7. I dip for 15 minutes and never had any problems rooting fast.

Then dip the stem in rooting stimulant and poke it in the RW.

Put all the RW cubes on a bed of perlite. Inject 2mL of tea mix from above in each cube and also wet the perlite with the tea mix as well. Place under the dome

Same thing here, I usually forget about them until roots show up.

***For RW, I grew the bacteria in the tea for 24 hours, just left it in the dark with an air line in it.

***For RW and Coco, if you aren't using special mother nutes, then putting the clones in a cup of RO for a day or two has really helped in cutting down the rooting time. I am thinking it helps leech or at least give the plant a chance to eat up a bit of those stored nutes.

some personal notes: i don't use sterilized blades or anything, I just use my finger which usually have hash on them most of the time. I cut off the clone and disturb the lower inch of the stem by scrapping it with my nails. I did do try the whole stereilized blade thing but it made no difference. Any bacteria from my fingers doesn't have a chance to grow next to the crazy selection of bacterias in the tea mix.

I haven't figured out the exact reasons for why my clones are rooting so fast. LOL this last batch of CJ rooted to fast, I need to modify the recipe for slower cloning so they could stay in the dome like old time for 20 days. It just gives me a huge rush when I see roots popping out after a couple of days.

Pic of CJ clone at the last hour of 6th day.

Welcome LGP, glad you are here.

Yah TBH, 6 days is hard to believe for me too.

LOL I think I am done experimenting with cloning.
Damn only if bloom experiments took as little time as cloning experiments. Got a long ways to go in bloom department. Seem to be getting a better hang of the vegging though.

mate, you need to bottle up that co ncoction and get it on the market. i seem to have to wait 12-14 days for my cheese to root out in RW

Thank you my friend.

Try the formula and see if you can cut some time on the cheese.

Some strains just take a bit longer than others. Definitely leech the mother of nutes for a good few days. TBH if I don't leech 1-2 days in RO seems to do the trick.

I know CJ roots in 3-4 days because, by the when the roots are visible by the 5th day they are quit long.

I will definitely take shots of the entire process and share them, I am very curios to see what others can do this.
