pH of water for germination?

Does the pH of germination water matter (using the paper towel method)? The water I'll be using on the paper towels is 7-7.5 so I figure that's not extreme enough to be bad, but I'm also curious in general. Does anyone know? Is there an optimum pH for water used for germination?

7-7.5 should be fine. ive used distilled water for germination before.
