I have a glass pipe with a lot of bends and twists in it,it's pretty hard to clean.I've tried a lot of things, and there is always a spot opposite the carb that is a bitch to get clean.
So the other day, I was sitting around thinking of cleaning my pipe when it hit me....thc is supposed to be fat soluble. Now, I don't know how much, if any, thc is left in resin caked on a pipe, but I decided to try something.
I got some baby oil because it was the closest oil at hand, put some on a cotton swab and inserted it into my pipe. The resin came right off. So I poured some oil into my pipe and let it sit a couple of minutes to soak into the resin...and then I proceeded to clean my pipe as I normally do, with swabs and pipe cleaner wires. The resin wiped off so smoothly and easily, I was amazed. I even managed to get that little spot across from the carb.
Then I rinsed her really well with some very hot water, and again with some listerine (for sanitary purposes) and a final rinse with water, then dry.
Usually, using alcohol and salt takes me about 45 minutes, because I let my pipe get fairly filthy between cleanings.Using boiling water takes even longer. This took ten minutes, and that was because most of my time is always spent on that little spot that's hard to clean.
If you like to smoke your resin, this might not be the best method for you,and I don't know how it works on metal pipes or acrylic because I don't own any.Give it a try and let me know.
