Pistils vs trichomes

Hey y'all!! I was wondering which is the best method of telling whether the girls are ready are or not. I understand if you see approx. 80% of the pistals change colors it's time. What I want to understand is, if it is more accurate to watch the trichomes and if you see them begin to cloud and change color? I was having a humidity prob. (80%) and corrected that down to 50-55%. I have noticed in the last 72 hrs. since correction the trichs have doubled in size! Thanks in advance, HH

Yes! Those swelling trichomes are a good sign. Because they are swelling with resin, and that's the good stuff.

Sure, the easy signs are the pistils, and many growers use that only. But if you have the magnifier, and the patience to gaze at the buds regularly for several weeks, you'll see how the glands develop, and can harvest exactly when you want.

Once they stand up, and swell, they should start to turn milky, and then they will bend over, and that's when many growers take them.

After that the heads start to come off, and resin is spilled out, and things get really gooey. :blsmoke:
