Plants are getting too big and no flowers yet...

Help :cry: My plants are getting too tall and they haven't started to flower yet. this time last year they were budding nicely and never went more than 3' tall. I need them to stop growing tall, is there any way to do this with out harming them? Is there a way to force flowering?

dude they will flower when they flower dont worry :) if you are worried go put a black garbage can over it for 12 hours a day haha
 
Plants are too big??? I wish we all had that problem. I assume there is some issue with keeping them hidden, so that is understandable. If they are in pots you can bring them indoors to try and force. If not then you are at the mercy of mother nature.

Are you growing the same strain as last year? That could be the reason for a the difference you are seeing...

if you do this u dont cover for 12 hours you cover for a couple hours before dark how many ever to make 12/12 and take it off when it becomes dark out ... if u leave on for 12 hours you will kill your plant ... .. but if there getting to big i would look into lst them .. and let them flower on there own as it wont be long..
 
I had the same problem...LST'd and topped them.... now I have there growin everywhere but over 6 ft...probably 9 or 10 without the LST
 
thanks for the replies. Im going to try to do the trashbag thing for a few hours a night til they flower. I am trying to keep them hidden since my neighbors are super anti-weed and will most likely call the law if they see the plants. I do have them in pots and for some reason they are much stronger smelling than last years and my hubby complained within 20 minuted of bringing them in the house, haha! Thanks again guys. I topped them 2 weeks ago and they are twice as big!
 
dont they smell it???? and it will get twice as big as it is now by the time its ready to chop so ur going to jail looks like
 
some strains get signifigantly taller in flower.,.,.but u can tie them down,or top em if theyre not flowering,they should start very so0n mine are a go0d we3k in flower.,.,give it time
 
tie then down so they sit at a 90 degree angle. You will get more light to the lower budsights and they will be less than a foot tall from the pot. All side branches become mains too, and yield will increase. start training them gradually, so not to stress them. get some dogshit or something to keep the neighbors off the scent.

Here's an idea. I read a thread where a guy tied white plastic flowers (any color will work) all over his plant so the neighbors would think it was some kind of an ornamental bush. From afar i can see this working. It dosen't take care of the oder issues though.
Read another thread, when the grower added molasses to his plants it changed the smell, and toned it way down too. Another grower responded to that thread, his responce was; this was his 1st year using molasses and couldn't figure out why his didn;t smell as bad as last years crop.
Know he know why!
