Please Help! First timer /stunted growth/yellow leaves

I wanted to grow for the first time so I bought the IGrowcan kit From royal Queen seeds . As I was thinking I could do this on very low budget as I've only ever smoked weed and have no experience with growing it. god was I wrong as I quickly realized how expensive it is to create a good growing environment.im not in ability to spend and invest to much money too fast so I decided to just buy the fancier stuff with time and patience. I have a couple different problems that I've already tryed to diagnose and correct. I've done many nights worth of research and still am very confused. So I'm going to try to explain my set up and situation as best as I can. I'll give you my guess and what I've tryed as a solution. But I'm hoping that someone who's already been down this road can help me understand what I might be missing or screwing up

Lighting- is cheap light bought from Temu. its a full spectrum LED at least. Supposedly 1000 watts but the results say otherwise. I originally had the light at a random long distance. Greater than or equal to 36in .as I kept doing research and had seen major stretching I drastically lowered the light to 30cm/12in , this was a gradual adjustment over the coarse of a week . I didn't want to stress the plants with a big jump.
I'm using a 18/6 light schedule.

Medium - the "I grow can" consist of Coco Coir and a unspecified fertilizer typically only used for soils but i had mixed it in the top half of the hydrated coco coir trusting The process. The coco was labeled premium and Royal Queen seeds . I don't recall it saying if it was buffered But the grow kit directions did not mention buffering or rinsing to soil . Turns out I had very a high ppm 5000 range when I had tested the run off later. . But considering how dehydrated it was when I got it Id assume this is the same shit I can get off Amazon for very cheap . After noticing excess stretching of my seedling I topped the coco coir with what I had laying around. A mix of 20% perlite 40% Happy frog soil 40% ocean forest soil . This helped support the stem better .

Nutrients- I'm using the Fox Farms Trio along with Bush doctor Cal mag and I decided to throw in Recharge for it's microbes and Mycorrhizae bennifits. This should allow me to be a little less precice with my Ph and Help ensure nutrients uptake considing that coco doesn't provid anything but a holding ground . I started the first two weeks with recharge only.1-2 times a week On my third week I started following the Fox Farms guides and added in Grow Big and Big bloom. I used the suggested dosages . PPm was at 850 I had also added in Fox Farms Bush doctor Cal mag solution .The past two day ( day 17 &18 since sprout) I have the adjusted The ppm to 420 by adding 5.9 PH Distilled water. hoping this prevents future toxicity burns.

Temperature - given I havnt invested into venting and environmental control I've been keeping the temp between 22-25 degrees Celsius (70-77 degrees Fahrenheit) this fluctuates a little bit not terrible.

Humidity- with lights on My humidity is 40-60% this sadly fluctuates alot.light off The humidity climbs to 80%!! Granted I'm away at my other job and don't have a ventilation system yet.

I got a mid grade 2ft by 2ft Tent with a humidifier and Aerowave Vivosun fan . Mid setting with wind simulator set on.first week started in a closet.
Vivosun smart ventilation system will be ordered this week.

Watering schedule- i started watering ever 2-3 days with tap water. ( After one week this quickly changed to Distilled only water.) 1 cup each time. Originally did not have a ph or ppm meter at the time and I was going off a reagent kit. I was somewhere between 6.5ph and 7.1ph after a couple weeks my ph meter came in . Im not sure if I calibrated it correctly means how the ph calibration powder wouldn't fully dissolve even in continuous sturing and doesn't match my regent test results very accurately. Around 2 weeks from sprout I had learned coco Coir is to be treated with a Hydroponic watering schedule. I didn't understand why at first but I've done alot more research since. So I currently water 2 -3 times a day. I now keep the pH around 5.7-5.9.

Below are images of my 18 day old RQS Royal Dwarf Auto flower in regular lighting and under the Temu LED grow light. I did this to show the different appearances in the plant . It is now 18 days old . You'll notice see there is yellowing on the leaves and the Cotyledons are Burnt. What confused me is that under my bedroom light the newer growth looks healthier ?? I'm unable to determine if this is deficiency or toxicity means how my PPM was reading at 850 which was within the Fox Farms guidelines and suggested dose range for seedlings. I have done two flushes since and dialed back the ppm to 420 in hopes that it's not too low but not too high ,this is what they suggest for soils .i also have plans on buying A quality LED from Vivosun. I have cut off most of the yellow portion of the leaves with sterile scissors .I also feel this growth is much behind and has been stunted. I also hear mixed reviews about the genetics of RQS but I feel like this is more on my end and not there's. Please help.

It's too hot for a plant that small for starters you don't wanna feed seedlings for a couple of weeks at least this is why we start them in light mix or seedling compost as it has less nutrients in it also the light isn't gonna be the best to flower with

I had a feeling this may have been part of the problem . I wasn't sure how to go about feeding means how coco has no nutrients at all. Should I even add Cal mag rn ? Or should I use water only until veg stage?

Oh I see yeah you should feed earlier if it's straight Coco I thought you were in a Coco based low peat soil/compost mix but best to feed light if you need more you can always increase it you can't take nutrients away so easily

Welcome to growing reefer!! And let me tell you, you don't need an amazing setup to grow good quality weed. Granted your buds(like mine ) might not swell to the size of your fist like some expensive, CO2 grows, but you can still grow quality. My whole setup including nutes has cost me maybe $450, that includes having caddies for my fabric pots. Hell you're even going a step further than I do with checking PPM and such. So you got all you need to grow well. Also you're plant is far too young for the light being 1000watts or 90watts to matter. Seedlings people start with just fluorescent T8 bulbs. At this point your plant/seedling doesn't even need nutes.

You are correct on lights affecting appearance. I've been taught you should pay attention to the appearance under normal lights/daylight from a window. Here's an example, taken the same day.
Under LED grow lights and then light from my window.

Just give her sparing water NOTHING else, especially since you're nutes are baked in the coco. You're diving in way too fast, this is a slow, patient process. You'll read this everywhere as I did when I over watered or fed too many nutes "LESS IS MORE". Water in light circles about 1 inch from stem is what I always did. Maybe 3- 4 oz of water at this stage, till I felt comfortable giving each 8oz - usually around node 4.

He said he added a fertilizer into the top half of the soil. Idk if dry nutes in straight Coco interact completely different than in soil. But I agree potential burning since the cotyledons are dying already. My goodness this start is a mess. I'd give it another week or 2 and start over if it hasn't burnt up. Unknown fertilizer, then added happy frog/ocean forest soil on top, then added Fox Farms trio at recommended doses :eyesmoke:. Metaphorically speaking, your medium is so nute hot it could cook an egg on its surface.

Another tip OP, which goes along with the less is more. You can always recover from a deficiency pretty easily, I too used fox farm nutes this grow and only at week 9 of flower have I used, for the first time, the recommended dosage of 2-3tsp of Tiger Bloom. Always start with half the product's recommended dosage. So I've read, been told, and followed to much better success this grow(my 3rd).

EDIT: Sorry OP if all this comes across as brutal put down, its not meant that way. I encourage you to get another seed and start again growmie! Or wait a bit to see if by some miracle of just watering, she survives.

so its still alive by the grace of water only lol . I was lucky enough to recieve a bonus seed with the RQS kits .its a phenotype of OG kush sprouted on the 13th of November in happy frog / Ocean frog /perilite. I feel coco is going to have to be a later experience as I want to understand the nutes better before doing anything similar to hydroponics.Ill post pics of my newer plant, I had a feeling I was gonna fuck one up as thats why I planted another lol . its got three cotyledons a good mutation as far as I know! an extra female chromosome< supposedly could yield 30% higher than normal. Thank you guys for responding. there is no foul taken and I appreciate such quick response and answers! I'll be posting an update soon on my nute burned plant. I see signs of hope. I'm now toking on some live resin and laughing at my mistakes . p.s now I want some fried eggs lol.

Id always recommend dirt for new growers it's more forgiving holds water well and more importantly it has better buffering capacity so you can make mistakes a bit with nutes without messing it up too bad within reason of course bud

Here here! I have a coco, spagnum moss, soil, perlite medium. Next grow im going to add more perlite and regular dirt to the ratio.

OP: With coco, it will actually repel water before absorbing if it becomes too dry, so keeping it moist all the time is essential - so I've read. Which is why I did a mix because keeping pure coco moist all the time terrifies me of over watering. But there are plenty of Coco heads here to guide you, and of course videos and info on the web. Best of luck mate!
