Pool shock?

Hello all, I have a plant in a one gallon bucket that has been doing good, although growing slowly. I owe the slowness to the environment being too cool for robust growing. So I've had the nutrient solution not getting above 70 and hasn't gotten below 60 yet either. Ph is 5.8, ppms was about 550 yesterday. Got a little paranoid about the roots being that I hadn't changed the solution out in 10 days or so so I changed out with 1-2 ppm of pool shock. Then brought it up with Flora Micro and grow to 500. Ph'd to 5.8 and came back today with the last looking pretty depressed. Could that little bit of bleach really do this?1000002262.jpg

I have the dimmer down to 20% but it was fine yesterday. Maybe I need to start over? With solution? I mean it's not like the roots are white or anything. Maybe the solution staying reasonably cool is adequate and no need for shock? It is still dropping, all day now. Ph and ppm are constant

What do the roots look like? How many watts of light? They look light starved too me..

Can I fix it? I was thinking it was staining from nutrient and shit caught in rooted but that actually looks like they're sick

Yep, you can trim the nasty roots off then mix a solution using a bottle of peroxide (h2o2) with ph'd water..
No nutes for now.. Let it run for a couple days, check for new root growth.. Then go back to nutes with pool shock.. Should be ok.. Oh yeah, turn your lights up 100%

100 watts already? Ok ok. Now the darkest section is up in the middle, do I cut them in half, then?

What I did was hold the plant up and use my fingers to pull down on the roots in a stripping motion..
The rotten ones will pull out easily.. I'm a bit confused on your light strength.. Is it 100 watts or turned down to 100 watts? How far above plants?

Here I am, sorry about the confusion. It's a 100 watt spider farmer with dimming, turned down to 20%. How much of the H2O2 do I use per gallon? All I have is the pharmacy store topical 3% shit. Oh yeah, about 18in from plant

Thank you btw, and so far. So those darker spots were a couple of dead fruit flies or something similar and pieces of plant matter and some funk. Funk being the least of it. The roots aren't white but...are they with nutes being brown? The plant is unhappy, for sure so certainly going to take your script as soon as I here back from ya @HydoDan

Well I looked it upast night and I found 10ml per gallon of H2O2 so I put pH:d RO water in, at that dosage with lights turned up to 50%. This morning no improvements yet. I'm thinking that I it's current state that all the way up won't help at all, might actually hurt it. I don't know if I will be patient enough to let it set there like this without swapping out the mix. Will do more research on this in the meantime. The only thing that has changed up until a couple days ago is that we've seen a more mild climate overall. Temps were up outside a bit with the usual rains. Has to be the root health, I think the solution temps got closer to 70 and that's what did it maybe. My last and first run saw brownish roots but they were ALL equally tinted brown. I struggled keeping temp down with ice jugs and shock but the plant took off like a rocket and then hermed. Whole nother story really

Be patient, You should see new root growth in a couple days.. Followed by a happier plant..
I use Maxi-Bloom which is red so I have red roots.. Mega crop is brown so it makes brown roots..
It would help to keep res temps at or below 68 but the pool shock should keep the nasties away even at 70.. Keep in touch I want to see how this works out..

Ok so since then, with the prescribed tx I've seen one leaf turn away and little rise in the other leaves. Tips turned down a little. Now I read this could be a drowning type thing so I lowered the water level and switched to a different air stone for one of the two I have going. Now I'm wondering if having two air stones in there isn't creating too many bubbles and getting the foam too wet? I noticed more roots coming out of the foam. Maybe the plant is drowning, despite my efforts to oxygenate the water?
