Potency when making infused coconut oil

Rather new to cooking with cannabis but I've been infusing it with coconut oil as it's nice and easy for me.

Some of the recipes I use it in leave not the nicest taste as I use trim alot. I've read people suggesting using half the amount of infused oil and making the rest up with normal oil which I have tried and does make it taste a bit better. But it takes alot to feel anything which is frustrating.

So my question is can I infuse with as little as I like to increase the potency or is there a limit to how much will get absorbed ? So if I used say a teaspoon of oil to infuse instead of half a cup, would the teaspoon of oil be just as potent at the end then the half cup of oil ?

Apologies if this is dumb cant find an answer anywhere. Any advice is appreciated ✌☮

I’m a huge fan of canna butter but I’ve never done oil. When I make butter, I do 1lb butter to 1oz bud. With trim, you’ll want to double or even triple the amount.
make sure you’re decarbing correctly. Bake trim in the oven on 225F for about 40 minutes to an hour to convert the THCA to THC. Then I use a mortar and pestle to grind it into powder. Simmer for 4-6 hours and strain. A tablespoon will put me on the floor and I’ve got a decent tolerance.

Couple of questions....
Are you using virgin coconut oil? Are you using lecithin? Have you verified your oven temp?

Your decarb needs to be 15* warmer. Set @ 240 for 40 minutes. Don't grind the decarb herb to a powder, just crumble it. The bad taste is chlorophyll, the finer you grind the more you get. I will use trim for bubble hash but bud does a better job for anything else for me.

I am not sure what the upper limit is for absorption from coconut oil, but I'm using a 1/2 cup of oil per 1/4 oz and might bump it up. ymmv ;)

I think it goes on number of servings...once the concentrate+oil is made.
Example if you take 1 Tsp of concentrate and add it to 1/2 cup of say coconut oil and that is say 10 servings (recipe uses 1/2 cup of oil and makes 10 servings) then doubling the coconut oil will make 10 servings half as potent, but doubling concentrate would make them twice as potent...as long as you keep the serving number you start with.
If you change serving number then that again potency amounts adjusts...less serving = more potency and so on.
Hope that makes some sense...and I understand it correctly too...lol
Best of luck and happy growin' :P
