Price Per Gram

From Newsletter dated February 17, 2014:

As the Executive Director of a nonprofit producer I know that the cost of producing a gram of medicine is not $12. It's not $7. It's far closer to $2 - $3.

If the spirit of the legislation had been enforced, and producers had been able to provide safe access to medicine to all of their patients I am certain that R. Greenleaf Organics would now be offering their high quality medicine at between $5 and $6 dollars a gram.

Then why are they still getting outrageous prices per gram? We are sick individuals with medical conditions, which I would imagine for the most part equals NO MONEY! There should be affordable medicine and programs to help those who are not able to get thier medicine regularly. I know for one if I had more cannabis availible to me I would be able to use far less opiates.

Medical Patient in NM for 4+ years now.

pazuzu420: After looking at prices in New Mexico since the program's inception, I've come to the conclusion that there is no rhyme or reason for the prices dispensaries charge for our medicine. All I know is that prices are (and have been) much more affordable in Colorado.

After a year with the program as a chronic pain patient, I could not afford to renew... but I'm trying to stay away from opiates. Have you ever tried to manage pain by crawling into the fetal position? (Hint: It doesn't work.)
